Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

So Batman’s are back at Nine. Showing on Go!, when did they win back the Warner contact for these movies, did they lose any from the stable?

I think they lost The Lego Movie and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Not sure about others.

Yeah I saw Lego movie on Ten yesterday, but Seven had that the last few years.

So it seems to be a few movies changing hands again.

No doubt Nine will milk Batman like they have in the past.

Only Number 2. Not sure if it is still on Seven, but when Nine had rights to the first Lego Movie was on Nine and Lego Movie 2 was on Seven.

Nine have also got rights back to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, but lost the 2005 Johnny Depp one. Both Lego and Charlie are on Ten and have aired on 10 Shake.

Now they just need Harry Potter back, Though Seven have aired them all twice in the last couple of months.

That means the much anticipated ICC T20 World Cup match between India v Pakistan from the MCG will be shown entirely on 9Gem, although the weather forecast is not good with heavy rain predicted for Melbourne metropolitan area on Sunday.

Pre-match coverage begins on 9Gem at 6.30pm AEDT, then match coverage gradually moves to main channel in other states as listed above. However in WA, the match will be shown entirely on 9Gem so it won’t clash with The Block. Also, Nine News Budget Special won’t be shown in NT due to World Cup coverage.

Nine have managed to sneak in an extra episode of The Block in this final week this year. The last normal Sunday episode is usually a reveal but that has been moved to Monday with the Sunday featuring a recap of the season.

Take a look back at The Blockheads journey over the last 12 weeks as they work on finishing their homes and
landscaping.

No reveal on whether Nine is going to launch anything new on Tuesday and Wednesday as they did last year with Parental Guidance.

Nothing else in the cupboards? Underbelly Vanishing Acts airing again? Although it was popular in the ratings, it was critically slammed elsewhere, including by many in here.

Which will push the finale into the following week and it will be huge, ensuring another weekly win. Clever. You’d have to say 9 are in the box seat to overtake 7 in weekly wins, unless they counteract somehow…

Due to the massive timezone difference, I believe that Perth viewers might get the first hour of the Australia v Afghanistan on Nine, before switching to GEM.
As I looked through the TV guide, I noticed that the Australia-England game will be shown on GEM in Perth.

The auction has been booked in for Saturday, November 5, that’s why Nine sneaked in the extra recap episode.

What happened to the Shaynna Blaze Country Home Rescue renovation show that was heavily publicised and promoted at last year’s upfront? Has it aired? It would’ve made sense for Nine to launch it off the back of The Block but I haven’t seen it promoted or even mentioned anywhere since late last year.

Next month apparently. Not sure why it dropped off the earth for 12 months.

Nine have in recent years had a final reveal one Sunday and the auctions the following week - the difference this year is one more episode in the week before the auction.

Nine recently added it to their media site - currently just a placeholder though, but we get to see new artwork for the title.

Nine tends to put these lifestyle shows on Friday nights at 7.30 (like Country House in AFL cities) or on Saturday nights at 7.30 (like Space Invaders). I reckon this Shaynna Blaze show will go on one of those two nights.

No main channel coverage of the cricket in Perth.

Nine Melbourne will once again broadcast the city’s NYE fireworks this year. The council said yesterday it would be the biggest ever New Year’s Eve celebrations in the city.
