Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

I do agree with your weak oontent remark but technically Olympics are considered to be excluded from annual ratings as a “special event” IIRC

I think they are trying to tie it in with “The Wedding Of The Year” on Love Child after it.

Thursday August 25
Mel/Adel/Per
7.30 The Footy Show Special 3 Hour Event (My Room Telethon)

If you’re not too busy watching the Olympics on Seven, you’ll love what Nine is running tonight. Goldeneye followed by Tomorrow Never Dies!

A PG rated Goldeneye though. Probably an edited version.

Goldeneye was classified PG by the Classification Board.

Non-cut.

So it is. When Seven had Goldeneye and broadcast it in a PG slot, they made cuts. I guess Nine are more lenient in their classification.

The Block only Sunday-Tuesday? :frowning:

Nine still full of movies. I think we might see some awfully low shares from them in the next few months. Its an absolute stinker of a schedule.

I seems that Nine are really only concentrating on programming Sun-Tue

Thursdays aren’t too bad and will continue to be competitive. The AFL Footy Show is moved to 7:30. Hopefully they can control Sam Newman. And a 3 hour long program. Wow that is going to be hard to sit through for fans.

Next week’s The AFL Footy Show is doing a three-hour telethon to raise money for charity, thus a 7.30pm start. I am sure it will be back to 8.30pm the following week (September 1) unless the AFL schedules a final for that night.
It’s interesting that Nine is showing three of the most recent 007 movies (it can’t show Spectre until 2017 at the earliest) on three consecutive nights next week. Could it be waiting for the Olympics to be completely over before launching a new line-up?

The season was originally scheduled to start next Monday so they had only edited episodes for three days that week. Nine wants to keep the reveal episodes on Sundays, so it is only moving next week’s episodes forward by one night.

There is a reason why The Block is only for 3 nights. It is just the first week.
As you all may recall, The Block was supposed to begin on Monday 22nd and air for 3 nights in the first week - Mon, Tues and Wed. Nine did a switcheroo and have now decided to open on Sunday, meaning they could only still air 3 episodes - Sun, Mon and Tues. They need to save the 4th episode for Sunday as it was originally always supposed to be a Sunday episode. So look for Nine to go 4 nights in week 2.

Is this a permanent move? Have they finally conceded and moved NRL Footy Show back to where it belongs?

This has happened each week when there is no Thursday night NRL.

With The NRL Footy Show doing so Bad in the Ratings, Looks like it could be the Swansong to this 23 Year Institution.

Finally some sense in Nine programming with NRL Footy Show back to Thursdays following live NRL. Should have been like this from the start.
