Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

thank you so much for the info and the caps.

Good to read that it’s a business-type show. It’s something different.

This is the synopsis for the episode.

First up, narrator Tim Blackwell introduces the owners of Barbeque Mafia on the opening night of their first restaurant. After recently returning from Austin, Texas, where they took honours in a Texas brisket competition, the boys are keen to share the success of their hobby with a local crowd, recreating a family-friendly, outdoor dining experience back home in Brisbane.

Next we catch up with horse lover Amanda Powell. This long-distance rider trains 60 hours a week with three different horses while juggling a full-time job. With a passion for horses that began when she was a child, she competes in endurance races of up to 160 kilometres.

Nature enthusiast Innes Larkin, the owner of Mt Barney Lodge, situated in the stunning Scenic Rim Region of south-east Queensland, takes us on one of the daily guided tours and climbs with his guests, and shares his passion for the Mountain he’s dedicated his life to.

Lastly, we head back to the spirit of the 1940’s to encounter The Flying Pinup, Kelly Forbes. She got hooked on pinup culture high school and has gone on to be a runner-up in the Miss Pinup International contest. Kelly is a big hit at vintage air shows getting her glamorous photo taken, pinup-style, alongside classic warbirds. She’s also passionate about women in aviation.

New season of Getaway starts this Saturday (February 15) at 5.30pm.

Long gone are the days when Getaway and Nine’s various lifestyle programs aired on primetime over on the network.

I don’t mind watching Getaway from time-to-time, but I guess that Saturdays at 5.30pm is the next best thing for the show, as it doesn’t really fit into other timeslots (in primetime).

Maybe Thursdays at 7.30? It would certainly help their somewhat inconsistent Thursday schedules (partly affected by the NRL, but still) and it’s a heritage brand which could help them with Thursday night ratings.

i thought about Thursdays, but as you said, it may be affected by some NRL matches in certain states. Unless they air specials on Thursdays throughout the year when there are no NRL. Like “Spring Getaways”, “Winter Getaways”, “Top 10 Australian Getaways” etc. And leave the normal version on Saturday arvos?

They could always air Getaway on 9Gem in Sydney and Brisbane whilst the NRL is live, and vice versa in the Southern states.

From a meteorologist travelling the world as a storm chaser to a Queensland couple dedicated to saving sea turtles, My Way introduces inspirational Australians who aren’t afraid to say they’re doing things their way, this Saturday at 12pm on Nine.

Narrator Tim Blackwell unveils the Queensland couple behind a 40-year pursuit of turtle conservation and protection, Bev and Nev McLachlan . Nev’s turtle obsession ignited as a university student when spending the summer learning how to relocate nests and handling eggs. Fast forward to now, when Bev and Nev spend every Christmas at the beach to embrace the hatching season from November to January.

After ballooning from 74kg to 130kg since graduating high school, Adam Leishman decided to make a weighty change by getting up and going for a run one morning. And he hasn’t missed a beat in nearly six years, waking up and running every morning since – for more than 2,000 days. Despite losing 60kg, he doesn’t plan on stopping.

Next we catch up with Tracey Walker , the woman who yearned to celebrate women and their love for vintage cars (old girls) and did just that, by creating Old Girls on the Road . It’s an all-female community who go on day trips, catch up, and chat all things classic cars.

Finally, there are not many people like Justin Noonan , a man who seeks out the adrenaline rush of a violent storm. After being terrified by a cyclone bearing his name as a child, he became obsessed with extreme weather events and decided to make a career out of it. Justin is a storm chaser who travels the world to pursue wild weather – the worse the better – and says it’s not an obsession, it’s his lifeblood.

An Amazing Family Sea Change and an Incredible Cure for Pain

From a woman who found the antidote to her painful restless leg syndrome to the family who bought a rundown dairy farm and found their higher calling, My Way shares more stories from passionate Australians this Saturday at 12pm on Nine.

First, narrator Tim Blackwell takes viewers to the coastal hinterland of Byron Bay where Pam and Martin Brook moved more than 30 years ago after yearning for a sea change. With the intention of transforming a rundown dairy farm into a macadamia orchard, the Brooks found a greater purpose when they discovered they could regenerate the land’s natural rainforest while growing a business. Now they have fostered a family legacy for sustainable practices.

Armed with the knowledge passed on from their parents, Pam and Martin Brooks, sons Will and Eddie, have taken the reins on the Brookfarm business, and created an exciting new venture as a result – the award-winning Cape Byron Distillery.

It was the discovery of trail running that allowed Kathryn Austin to manage her painful restless leg syndrome. Little did she know it would take her around the world, competing in ultra-endurance events throughout Australia and Europe. Her antidote has enabled this Queensland mum to become an active and inspirational member of the trail-running community.

Then we meet the man behind Seven82 Motors, Ben Atkinson, who restored his first car to help bond with his ailing father. It inspired a career in car restoration that is being passed on to his son cementing the same bond Ben had with his father. With a spectacular collection of his own, Ben travels the globe to restore classic vehicles for a niche market of car lovers.

Meet a Fearless Adventurer and a One-Woman War on Food Waste

From an adventurer who knows no limits to a woman who thrives on food waste, My Way takes viewers into the lives of inspiring Australians this Saturday at 12pm on Nine.

Narrator Tim Blackwell introduces Ryan Siacci, a Queenslander dedicated to adventure travel and rock climbing. Ryan thrives on doing things differently. After leaving the army to become a mountain guide he worked in the ice fields of Chile, the Alaskan alps, and the famous Picos de Europa mountain range in northern Spain. He also does the popular climbing blog, Zen and the Art of Climbing, and is a journalist for Wild, an online adventure travel magazine.

Then we meet Dylan O’Donnell, lover of all things astronomy and astrophotography. His work, featured by NASA and the European Space Agency, is derived from fascination in what he uncovers in his photographs. His passion for the universe extends to building his very own observatory in his Byron Bay backyard.

The Gold Coast is home to Women’s Surf and Coffee, a group of women from students to professionals and retirees with the same love of the water, coffee and friendly catch-ups. There are no group rules, just an opportunity for everyone to feel free and enjoy themselves and, with a bit of luck, to catch a wave together.

With 795,000 tonnes of food wasted each year in Australia, Michelle Mascher, who was brought up with a no-waste rule on the family farm, devised a simple plan to combat the problem: turn all the “ugly” fruit into chutney, preserves and jam. Now, five years later, Ugly Duck Fine Foods is Michelle’s way of making the world a better place, one fruit at a time.

Meet a Medieval Jouster and a Man on a Sky-High Sunday Drive

Meet more intrepid Aussies doing amazing things their way in the next instalment of My Way, this Saturday at 12pm on Nine.

Tim Blackwell, the voice behind My Way, introduces Luke Binks, a multi-talented craftsman who grew up with a fascination for medieval history. First, Luke discovered an appreciation for jousting at the Abbey Medieval Festival in Queensland. Then, taking it one step further, he decided to create his own jousting armour. Overcoming Fear of Flying and Crafting a Great Beer

In this week’s episode of My Way we are introduced to more Aussie go-getters who are eager to share their stories – Saturday at 12pm on Nine.

Narrator Tim Blackwell introduces viewers to a Queenslander who faced his fear of flying in the most unconventional way. At the age of 28, Stephen Limkin contracted a brain virus called meningoencephalitis. The near-death experience left him traumatised, which manifested in a sudden fear of flying. Refusing to let the fear defeat him, Stephen took matters into his own hands and is now a qualified pilot and a qualified instructor, helping others to overcome similar fears.

Josh Wilkinson is a professional artist who at combines technology and sounds in unique and creative ways. His most impressive works were recently unveiled at the Vivid Festival: a series of giant interactive, light installation harps. We meet Josh as he prepares the sculptures for Curiocity Brisbane.

We also meet Nicole Rowles who is an advocate for work-life balance. As the Nine News regional weather presenter, Nicole is no stranger to the glitz and glam of the makeup chair. But she leaves behind the television studio’s bright lights to climb the most arduous, gritty rock faces she can find. For Nicole, it’s all about putting her physical and mental limits to the test.

Over a beer – while talking about beer – a recipe for a beer, the Eggnog Stout, motivated three Gold Coast mates, Dan Norris, Eddie Oldfield and Michael “Govs” McGovern, to brew their own craft beer. While sharing everything they learnt along the way with their supportive and passionate community base, Eggnog Stout set the wheels in motion for Black Hops, now one of the most successful and awarded craft breweries in Australia.

Repeat movies on four nights, early in the official ratings season, just don’t cut it.

Why would they waste new content when they’ll win because of MAFS earlier in the week.
No consideration for viewers, just ratings wins.

It would probably still rate its arse off since it’s Nine.

Lazy programming nonetheless.

The only things worth checking out on that schedule is 60 Minutes, Paramedics, Doctor Doctor, and maybe Taronga, forget about the rest.

What’s Escape to the Chateau, it says S6, I’ve never heard of this one.
