Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

Correct me if I’m wrong on this one, but I was under the impression that most (if not all) of this year’s Australian Ninja Warrior was filmed back in March/April albeit without an audience aside from a few family & friends of the participants. Something among those lines.

Mind you, with a 2021 season of Married At First Sight unlikely to be on-air in February it wouldn’t overly surprise me if Ninja Warrior has been held off until then so Nine has some premium content to begin next year with!

Music from the homefront special encore screening

Monday 22 June at 9.00pm

In a year that has so far provided more than enough heartache, Nine’s inspirational Anzac Day concert Music From The Homefront is a standout moment of unity and captured the great Aussie ‘We’re All In This Together’ spirit.

A special encore of highlights from Music From The Homefront hosted by David Campbell and featuring some of Australia’s greatest acts performing from their homes into your home will be televised on Monday, June 22 at 9.00pm on Nine.

Music From The Home Front brought viewers together in a time of adversity, allowing a moment of respite in these troubled times whilst honouring COVID-19 frontline workers and commemorating Anzac Day. Set up by Michael Gudinski with some help from iconic Australian rocker Jimmy Barnes, an unprecedented line up of more than 50 Australian and New Zealand artists performed.

The encore will include performances by Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss, Colin Hay and Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian, Crowded House, DMA’S, Tones and I, Bliss ‘n Eso and Kate Cebrano, Ben Lee, Birds of Tokyo, James Reyne and Mark Seymour, Dean Lewis, Tim Minchin and Missy Higgins, Paul Kelly and Jess Hitchcock, and Vance Joy.

The encore broadcast coincides with Mushroom Group releasing Music From The Home Front as an album on double CD and digital download (out June 19), with a triple vinyl set being released on July 31.

100% of profits from Music From The Home Front are going to Support Act – Australia’s only charity delivering crisis relief services to artists, crew and music workers as a result of ill health, injury, a mental health problem, or some other crisis that impacts on their ability to work in music. Support Act which was established in 1997 to provide members of the music industry with breathing room to get back on track when they have hit a rough patch.

Nine’s Head of Content, Production and Development, Adrian Swift, said: “Music From The Homefront really captured the mood of so many Australians during Covid lockdown. If we are – as Ben Lee sings- all in this together, then let’s have some fun! We saw some of Australia’s best musicians find new ways to perform our favourite songs and, in the process, lift the mood of the nation, celebrate our Anzac heroes and now support musicians who’ve been hit hard by the nation’s months in lockdown.”

Michael Gudinski, CEO of Frontier Touring and Chairman of the Mushroom Group said: “We had just nine days to pull together Music From the Home Front. A show this big should take months. I am so proud of the results, humbled by the reaction to our incredible musical talent, and now so pleased to bring you this album to commemorate that special night.”

Nine are promoting “great Aussie classic” movies coming to Wednesdays and strangely including Muriel’s Wedding (as seen on ABC on Sunday).

Update:

As last seen on ABC on 14 June!

Finally established that the Territory Cops episodes to be show in AFL states are from Season 1.

Interesting to see this type of content going to air considering how COPS has been cancelled in the US and the racial profile of the participants in this show.

The Summit is a global pledging moment where world leaders, corporations and philanthropists will announce new commitments to help develop equitable distribution of COVID-19 tests, treatments and vaccines, as well as rebuild communities devastated by the pandemic. Calling on global leaders to end COVID-19 for all, Global Citizens around the world are taking action to ask them to commit the billions of dollars needed to deliver testing, treatments, and vaccines to everyone, everywhere.

In addition to new commitments, The Summit will feature panel discussions and interviews with experts and thought-leaders moderated by journalists Katie Couric, Mallika Kapur, Morgan Radford, Isha Sesay and Keir Simmons. The Summit will spotlight scientific reports on progress being made for therapeutics and vaccine development and distribution. The Global Goal: Unite for our Future campaign was launched last month under the patronage of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The Campaign, also supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Wellcome Trust, focuses on addressing the pandemic’s impact on the most vulnerable and seeks to build back communities and economies with freedom and justice for all. Calling on individuals to take action, and asking governments, corporate leaders and philanthropists to make their commitments toward the fair distribution of COVID-19 tools and treatments, Global Goal: Unite for our Future aims to strengthen healthcare systems so no one is left behind in this pandemic.

Thanks for clarifying it. Appreciate it

Probably. They showed a teaser today during The Voice saying it’s coming soon.

Coming to 9Go!, according to TVBlackbox.

TV Blackbox noted back in February that Foxtel was not screening the new season of American Idol and it did not appear to be airing elsewhere. Nine has revealed that they have picked up the rights to American Idol and will screen it on 9GO soon.

GUY SEBASTIAN: THE MAN THE MUSIC

Monday 29 June at 9.10pm

Go behind the scenes and delve deep into the life of one of Australia’s most successful and esteemed solo artists in Guy Sebastian: The Man The Music, on Monday, June 29, at 9.10pm after The Voice on Nine.

Viewers will get the best seat in the house as Guy sings some of his greatest hits, from Battle Scars to Before I Go and the ARIA 2019 Song of the Year hit single Choir, all filmed live on his recent “Ridin’ With You” Australian tour.

This special will take us backstage and into his home as we explore the man behind the music, meet his family and collaborators, go through the highs and lows and heartbreaks, and see the humour and passion that drives the career of one of Australia’s all-time favourite singer-songwriters.

“As a songwriter, I think some of the best songs that come about are the circumstantial ones,” Guy explains. "I remember when I was writing ‘Battle Scars’ - same thing, you know? I think songs just flow through you when you’re vulnerable and in a sensitive place; you need an outlet to express your emotions. Hopefully everyone will get the chance to peek behind the curtains at what makes the songs come to life, as well as what my life is like. I’m really proud of this project.”

Guy Sebastian’s new single, ‘Standing With You’ – is out Friday June 26th through Sony Music Entertainment Australia and is available to pre save NOW.
