The knights making the grand final is probably the worst thing for WIN, with reporters appearing on 9 and what not
I think the opposite.. they would have gotten HUGE ratings, and would help boost the profile of local reporters.
And I think Novocastrians will like seeing familiar faces like Sam Djodan and Jane Goldsmith on the 6pm news. Nine’s coverage of the Knights this week and the incident yesterday has been excellent.
I’m more in the thought of pushing the network into WIN News. It’s great to boost the reporters and share content but WIN have hardly been one to pay ball over the years.
It feels like they’ve been collaborating well lately, making NBN reporters and footage available for Nine News, and in turn, WIN getting footage from Nine for NBN News, all free of bugs or cover ups both ways.
Mappy is a terrible “person”.
It is a great thing if Nine are able to still make use of NBN resources. Obviously you would expect it to work out for WIN as owners without impacting their budgeting.
Would that be because NBN is still integrated into the Nine systems and the transitional agreement? Once that Newcastle control room starts up it’s probably all going to go.
I would like to think they’re separate things.
Nine / WIN could still refuse to make footage or resources available regardless of which control room or playout facility is being used?
Depends what’s in the affiliate agreement. I would say knowing WIN the current sharing arrangement would be temporary y during the transition period. With the introduction of a new story management system it might make it easier. NBN probably still have access to whatever system Nine use and possibly make it accessible network wide at WIN. But I would say with how WIN runs on the smell of a oily rag if something were to happen in say Wollongong it would be more likely for WIN to use Nine’s footage rather than the opposite.
Yep, NBN is still integrated with Nine’s systems. This will change over in the coming weeks.
WIN and Nine are bound by an affiliation agreement to share news vision when required. The only time they wouldn’t share vision is if they had purchased it from someone external. In that case, they would have to foot the bill for that vision themselves (which WIN would never be able to afford).
In regards to NBN providing footy content over the past week, that all comes from Nine’s budget. They would be paying them as freelancers.
That explains why Gold was removed from 10 Northern NSW a few months ago. I assume that Darwin is the same and has Gold as well on channel 95.
Knowing WIN, they’ve most probably labeled the post ai content because they have someone who don’t know how to spell posting stuff
Could this also mean that from next week (or maybe 1st week of November)
- Playout moves to Media Hub
- Introduction of WIN sponsor billboards and the “You’re Watching Channel Nine across regional on the WIN Network” IDs etc
- End of Big Dog.
- NBN News control room becomes operational, bringing with it comestic changes to the appearance eg dotless opener in the WIN News style and supers.
