Dentsu appoints Nine’s Danica Bellchambers as chief data and technology officer

Dentsu ANZ has appointed Nine’s head of AI product Danica Bellchambers in a newly created chief data and technology officer role.

Bellchambers starts at the agency on May 11 and will also join the Dentsu ANZ executive leadership team.

In her new role, Bellchambers will be tasked with “building a more connected and cohesive data, technology and AI strategy” for the company.

Prior to her year-long stint at Nine, where she led the company’s AI product strategy, she spent three years at Clemenger BBDO and Chep, where she was the executive director of data science and analytics.

Nine returns as media partner of Lightscape 2026

Nine Perth are returning as the official media partner of Lightscape 2026, marking the second consecutive year of this glowing collaboration. The announcement coincides with the unveiling of a bold new chapter for Kings Park’s iconic winter event, featuring a reimagined trail of light, sound, and storytelling.

Running for an extended seven-week season from Friday June 5 to Sunday July 26, the global award-winning sensation will see its 1.8km trail illuminate Kings Park with more than twenty stunning light installations. The 2026 season promises to be the most immersive yet, featuring a collection of returning fan-favourites alongside brand-new works from around the world.

Since its sold-out debut in 2023, Lightscape has captivated over 400,000 visitors, cementing its status as one of Perth’s premier winter attractions. The experience invites families and friends to witness the beauty of the Western Australian Botanic Garden in an entirely new light

Peter Brennan, Head of Marketing, Communications and TV Programming at Nine Perth, said the partnership reflects Nine’s ongoing commitment to supporting major community events.

“Lightscape is an extraordinary event loved by so many, held in one of Australia’s most iconic locations,” he said.

“We’re proud to be the chosen media partner for a second consecutive year, helping to showcase an experience that brings our community together while supporting the local spirit of Western Australia.”

NINE COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF QMS MEDIA,CREATES POWERFUL AUSTRALIAN-OWNED MEDIA ECOSYSTEM

Nine Entertainment Co. (Nine) has completed its 100 per cent acquisition of QMS Media (QMS), marking a definitive shift in Nine’s portfolio, and positioning the group as Australia and New Zealand’s first fully integrated, digital-first media powerhouse.

The addition of QMS transforms Nine’s offering to advertisers, agencies and partners by delivering a unique cross-platform digital media proposition, combining Nine’s premium assets in Streaming, Broadcast and Publishing with QMS’ leading outdoor assets. With the acquisition complete, Nine and QMS will now finalise their integrated Go-To-Market strategy which will unlock a ‘Sofa to Street’ advertising proposition.

From today, QMS’ 300 team members from Australia and New Zealand will join the Nine Group and the business will continue to operate as a distinct division, overseen by CEO John O’Neill who will report to Nine Group CEO Matt Stanton.
