NFL

At least we wrapped up 7th spot in the NFC last week…losing to the Vikings wasn’t needed though.

Super Wild Card Weekend is set.

Sunday, Jan 11:

  • 8.30am: Rams @ Panthers (Fox)
  • Noon: Packers @ Bears (Prime)

Monday, Jan 12:

  • 5am: Bills @ Jaguars (CBS)
  • 8.30am: 49ers @ Eagles (Fox)
  • Noon: Chargers @ Patriots (NBC)

Tuesday, Jan 13: Texans @ SNF winner at noon (ESPN)

WHAT AN ENDING.

  • 1 minute left: Steelers touchdown but missed PAT (that’s the second missed PAT in Boswell’s four years of play)
  • 41 yard kickoff return to BAL 47
  • 2 seconds left: Ravens missed FG and hand Steelers the division, who will face Texans

Update:

At this moment, 5 lead changes - all in 4th quarter. And we are not done yet.

What a crazy start to the playoffs.

Update: Rams won 34-31 and will meet Seahawks in the divisional.

I thought teams were reseeded after the wild card rounds? If the Packers win today then that means the Seahawks would meet them, but if they lose and the Niners win then the Seahawks would meet them, and if both lose they meet the Rams

Well, first time I heard of this rule. No wonder why the bracket isn’t filled in.

It’s a bit strange that it’s presented as-is though, usually without the “lowest remaining” asterisk.

Correct.

It’s not a strict bracket - but this has been in place since … forever.

A missed FG eliminated Ravens from the playoffs.

Now two of it (+1 PAT, meaning 7 points left on the board) may eliminate Packers if Caleb can finish.

(Update: And we’re done. One of the most spectacular collapses in recent memory. Seahawks will have to keep waiting to see who plays them.)

Another very good game. I thought Green Bay may have been able to pull of the win but Chicago was just able to find enough.

At the very least we know that Chicago will host the other NFC Divisional match next weekend.

Maybe i’ve not paid close enough attention, but I swear its changed in the last 10 years.

It’s not a bad system, it might be a better option for the finals format in the AFL when they adopt the wildcard.

They used to give the top 2 seeds the first week off - now since they expanded to 14 team p/offs it’s only the top seed in each conference.

Back in May, the Lions submitted a proposal for the reseeding to be done based on team records.

It didn’t even gather enough support to be put up for a vote.

Bear down! Honestly thought we were done after half time but Chicago’s crazy knack for waking up in the 4th quarter continues.

Fucking hell. We choked harder than Ernest Borgnine in Baseketball.

The crazy wild-card weekend continues with another one-scorer. Bills advanced over Jaguars, 27-24, for Josh Allen’s first road playoff win. (Note that entering the final quarter, it was 13-10.)

The Bills haven’t had such a win for 33 years either until today.

They will play Broncos in divisional unless Chargers win later in the afternoon.

Scoreline 23-19. NBC’s graphics debut coming up next.

This stat will be a big talking point in the day to come.

With that, we know the days divisionals will play, but not the time and network just yet. Those will be announced on Tuesday.

On Sunday, it’s 49ers-Seahawks and Bills-Broncos. The day after, it’s Rams-Bears and Steelers/Texans-Patriots.

Not even sure what the hell collapsed.

This is really happening. A 6 seed forcing a 1 seed into overtime.

Divisional round couldn’t start better.

(Update: 24-yarder and the 1 seed advances.)

well that was a great game to start the week.

I’m sure the bills mafia are in a frenzy with that non catch call

and now shaheed with an amazing first run touchdown for Seahawks
