She has presented a few episodes of Newshub Nation that I’m aware of but outside that I’m not sure sorry

I absolutely see @Korero’s point around this - but ultimately they are going to go with their talent they have on their books already to present political coverage.
It goes back to a much wider issue of Maori/Pasifika/other minorities not being in those positions in the first place. I see a lot of love for Mihi Forbes on Twitter, but she’s the host of a very niche show and wouldn’t work as a debate host or election night coverage.
The question is how we get those people in those roles in society, not just media but business and politics etc to reflect society.

I imagine they’ll have a revolving panel like last time round that’ll have Maori/Pacifika commentators for the election coverage.
But I agree - They should have some greater representation for the actual presenters.

I’d be surprised if The AM Show returns at all next year. With the sale of TV3, and Magic Talk removing itself from Newshub, I’m sure the new owner will want to immediately cut costs. The AM Show and The Project are the biggest cost spenders in the news division - and both return poor ratings consistently.

I can maybe see a Lower budget AM Show going to air. Magic Talk still needs a breakfast show if the split occurs and could still sell a stripped back version to Three’s new owners done from the new radio studios.

Used to do a wide shot in the 4:30 PM tease to 6 News

Wow those figures are so different. I see no reason why they’d keep The Project. Surely it’d be cheaper going to a different format, or even News at 7.

Yeah, the weather is shot way tighter, cutting off Ingrid/Alex at the side of the 3x3. Looks sloppy.

So much wasted space in that studio. Compared to TVNZ who use 99% of the space they have in their studio. Time to get rid of both The AM and Newshub studio and design a studio that is appealing and useful.
