Sevens new afternoon line seems to be working. Seven Afternoon News and The Chace are both up. Seems to also having an affect on news number (at 6pm) in Melbourne and Sydney.

Seven Brisbane is still recovering from the damage done 2 years ago. A lot more needs to be done in this market.

National

Nine News was up 33,000 this week as Seven News improved by 24,000 from the previous week. 10’s bulletin was 2,000 lower as ABC lost 26,000 after getting a lift by the same amount the previous budget week.

10’s bulletin continued to lose viewers compared to last year.

5-city

ABC, 10 and Nine bulletins were down in the metro markets from last week as Seven improved by 9,000.

There were some significant changes in several bulletins from last year with 10’s well down overall. That was mitigated by a big lift in Adelaide while Nine and ABC’s bulletins also made posted big gains in that market. ABC News Brisbane and Seven Perth were also notable for large increases.

Week 22

National
News ratings were generally higher this week compared to last including Nine News by 59,000 posting the bulletins’ highest rating so far this year. Seven was up by 24,000, ABC by 4,000 and 10 by 5,000.

Seven and ABC were also slightly higher than the equivalent week of 2025 with Nine slightly lower. 10 News, however, showed another big drop year-on-year.

Nine News’ biggest improvements came in the NRL states helped by Wednesday’s bulletin leading into the State of Origin. That saw the bulletins from the other networks all down in those markets.

Compared to last year there was little change overall at 6pm while ABC at 7pm was up 9% while 10 at 5pm was down 23%.

National

Nine News was down a significant 62,000 while ABC news dropped 20,000 from last week. 10 gained an extra 10,000 with Seven up slightly by 2,000 to the bulletin’s second highest weekly rating of the year.

Nine and especially 10 rated lower than week 23 of 2025.

5-city

10 made up some ground picking up 25,000 viewers across all markets while Seven was up 20,000. Nine had a drop of 27,000 and ABC was 20,000 less than week 22.

Three Adelaide bulletins were notable for improving on this week last year while 10 continued to underperform overall.

National
Monday’s King’s Birthday holiday and the Monday AFL had a big impact on Monday’s ratings for week 24. The results help Seven to lift their average audience by 53,000 while Nine was down 14,000 and 10 by 24,000. ABC’s result was 1,000 higher week on week. The results for Seven News were also a 6% improvement on this week last year as the other bulletins all lost audience to varying degrees.

Monday’s +400,000 result helped Seven News to lead in Melbourne and overall across the 5-city market where the bulletin was up by 37,000 week-on week and 5% year-on-year.

Nine and ABC were down slightly on last year while the another significant drop was seen for 10 News.

National

Nine News’ audience was up 45,000 on the previous week while 10 News improved by 31,000. ABC was steady but Seven News dropped by 51,000 (after last week was impacted by the King’s birthday holiday). Compared to last year, 10 News continued to underperform despite the increase.

10 News was up 31,000, Nine News by 26,000 and ABC News by 12,000 as Seven lost audience in most markets totalling 47,000. Perth was the exception where the bulletin posted its highest rating of the year. That was up 39% on the same week last year.
