From The Australian

There’s little disputing the lack of depth and experience in key newsroom leadership roles spilt on to the small screen, with Seven’s robust 110,000-viewer lead over rival Nine across the capital cities at 6pm reduced to a mere 300 viewers during the course of De Ceglie’s disastrous 13-month tenure.

Seven Melbourne and Nine Perth seem to be the standout at the moment. Both performing were well.

Underperforming 10 Melbourne, ABC Adelaide and 7 Perth. All have shit sets. :joy:

Wasn’t very long ago that STW’s news was last among the networks in the west.

But I do wonder how they went between 2013-15 when Nine News was the number one rating news service nationally, though this would be mostly to do with large victories over their opposition in Sydney and Melbourne.

Seven News Perth was still well ahead. Nine’s bulletin was lucky to make the top 20 in Perth across the week.

This week in 2013 180,000 for Seven and 118,000 for Nine in Perth
In 2014 it was 211,000 to 93,000 (first 30 mins)
In 2015 183,000 to 70,000

A decade on and TVW’s bulletin viewership and margin has dramatically decreased (though still ahead as to be expected while Rick and Sue are still at the helm). Commissioning Tipping Point Australia in the 5:00pm timeslot has a lot to do with it.

Though I also recall in the mid-noughties Seven News was ahead by more than 100,000 - at a time when STW had an all-female double header in Dixie Marshall and Sonia Vinci (NWS also had a male double header in Rob Kelvin and the late Kevin Crease, though I remember they served longer and enjoyed some ratings success in the 90s) which was broken up in 2008.

Natalia Cooper was also just short of turning 20 when she began her career at STW.
