The Guardian Australia’s Amanda Meade wrote in her Weekly Beast column today that The Australian’s media reporter Sophie Elsworth had been appointed London correspondent for the News Corp papers.

For the third consecutive month The Australian was not in the top 20 – a big fall from 10th in June last year and even its 15th ranking spot in September last year.
The ABC News website, which has just been redesigned, re-claimed the top spot, followed closely by Murdoch’s news.com.au.
The announcement was made at the same event at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena last Friday where Melissa Doyle revealed she would be the new host of The House of Wellness on Seven in 2025.

The Australian reports Sydney celebrity columnist Annette Sharp is moving to news.com.au after 16 years with The Daily Telegraph and the Saturday and Sunday Telegraphs.
Sharp’s in-house transfer at News Corp will see her sticking to her bread and butter – commenting on celebs and the movers and shakers at the top end of town – but she’ll also be assigned to “some new projects”.
“After 16 years with The Daily Telegraph and its weekend sister papers The Saturday and The Sunday Telegraphs, I have decided the time has come for a new challenge,” Sharp told Diary.
“I’m delighted to be moving to the nation’s leading online news site news.com.au, where I look forward to celebrating and exploding the latest celebrity and socialite-related sagas while trying my hand at some exciting new projects.”
Today News Corp published a preview of the upcoming Australia-India cricket test series in The Daily Telegraph, Herald Sun, The Courier-Mail and The Advertiser. The 8-page print and digital wrap came in three languages – English, Hindi and Punjabi. This will be followed by a 16-page launch guide on November 17, also containing content in Hindi and Punjabi.
