News Breakfast

So Today was over 200,000 and clear of News Breakfast on Wednesday but well below 200,000 on Thursday? It’s difficult to believe the ratings sometimes.

Today was about 10k ahead of News Breakfast on Wednesday but significantly behind in Sydney. While there is fluctuation of overnight numbers there are clear trends emerging in favour of News Breakfast.

Amazing to see how the show has evolved over the years.

And yet for everything that has changed those could almost be today’s headlines!

Shows how futile and pointless the news cycle is.

Weekend Breakfast to be simulcast on Saturday mornings on ABC TV and iview

From this Saturday 21 March Weekend Breakfast will be simulcast on ABC TV from 7am Saturday, as well as Sunday, so that ABC audiences can receive the latest news and information during the coronavirus crisis.

The program will continue to be broadcast on ABC NEWS Channel and can be live streamed on ABC iview.

Join hosts Johanna Nicholson and Fauziah Ibrahim as they bring you the latest news from Australia and around the world.

This weekend’s program will host a range of medical professionals and public health experts discussing the coronavirus pandemic. It will also look at the economic impacts and how a range of different sectors are being affected, including education, hospitality and the arts.

Plus they’ll be speaking to guests about how to protect and support vulnerable groups in our society, including the homeless, senior Australians, people with a disability and people who are living in remote areas. They’ll also be discussing how to manage your health and wellbeing if you’re in quarantine or working from home.

Surely if this move is successful, Weekend Breakfast will be a permanent fixture in the schedule of ABC-TV (and iView!) on Saturday and Sunday mornings?

I’m surprised it hasn’t been on the main channel.

I’d be outRAGEd if that were to happen. Having it on 24 is good enough for Saturday mornings.

Rage could always screen on ABC Comedy (Really should go back to ABC2) and shift out the kids shows on Saturday mornings.

Congratulations to Johanna Nicholson who has announced that she is expecting her first child in August.

You take away my one morning for a sleep in? Why do you hate me so much! Put it on ABC3, leave ABC Kids alone so I can sleep without kids killing each other!

ABC ME shouldn’t just be for older kids, should be rebranded ABC Kids. Older kids will be all over iview and YouTube, etc anyway.

It’s more to do with when the kids or teens are likely to be watching.

ABC Me runs to 10pm.

ABC Kids runs to 7.30pm. ABC Comedy runs after 7.30pm.

Changeover time for 22 is 7.30pm, remember?

Anyway, back to discussing News Breakfast!
