Does anyone know what’s happening with Fauziah? Has she been officially replaced.

I’m quite enjoying James in the role and I think he has great chemistry with Kath.

Been watching the weekend show recently and I definitely agree that the current team is good

Not sure if there is a current team, it does still seem to change from week to week. It’s been James, Lorna, Kathryn and a few others but Kathryn does seem to be the one most commonly on and it has been good. I did wonder if Fauziah might be back after The Voice and whether there was something going on like when she was pulled off air for the election period after her Twitter exposure. I guess next weekend will be the big test.

How can it be tenable to have her in that job if they need to yank her off air for certain stories? It’s not like she’s a remarkable talent.

Her departure is a big loss to the stability of their lineup - Madeleine steps in for both hosts which probably means she hosts a fifth of the year or so.

I’ll be interested in whether they will now drop the newsreader format, which I believe has contributed to the ratings falling this year. If they don’t revert and decide to replace her, hopefully it means they will sign Emma on permanently.

Looks like Fauziah may be gone altogether, James Glenday (alongside Kath) is listed on the EPG for next weekend too.

Interesting, I had wondered. I did a couple of Googles to see if anything had updated anywhere. The only other thing I wondered was if there was some sort of an issue between her and Kath as it had roughly coincided when she came along to cover for Jo however I haven’t seen Fauziah on any other programming or bulletins either and with a number of staff leaving and taking redundancies, who knows.

Not sure if that tells us anything. Fauziah has been off for about three months, and the sub changes every second weekend.

Kath is the one who makes it watchable, not the rest.

First time post here so please go easy on me.

Madeleine was fantastic. She could do the light and the dark stories with ease. She never spoke to us like a play school presenter, she just presented the facts. I liked her a lot which I can’t say for many presenters on any network. I think this is quite a loss for news breakfast.

I really hope she goes on to do something on-air with her relatable talent. I think relatable is the word, she really did feel like someone you might like to have a drink with or a next door neighbour you might leave your keys with.

Good luck to her!

Today is her last day on the show.

That’s two experienced journalists gone from the ABC (after Mary Gearin’s departure on September 30, AFL Grand Final day).

I tuned in for a little bit today; and she seems like a really good presenter. Big loss to the program.

But the whole production value of this program seems a little hunky dory doesn’t it? There’s nothing inherently wrong with it, set looks okay, presenters seem alright, still hate the mismatched graphics but it just lacks a certain amount of polish of the commercials.

I left the morning news on after Breakfast finished and it’s the same, feels flat and all the crosses to journalists felt a little ho hum. A real lack of energy, lots of stumbling etc.
