It seems more and more are dropping off Hit106.9 with NewFM seeing a steady improvement.

Not looking too positive for 2HD in morning and afternoons at this stage. I’m sure they would have been expecting better figures.

2HD probably use the 2SM excuse. “A feeder for the network”.

Could these results spell the end of The Hunter Today on 2HD?

It definitely has to be a concern. Talkin’ Sport following Hunter today is only ahead of NewsRadio ratings wise, surely they can’t keep pushing on with it if they’re serious about revamping the stations and network into next year.

Good, local matters in the Hunter! :+1:

hit106.9 feels too generic - too much Sydney, too much Melbourne, less Hunter. Yes, I mentioned those cities deliberately because the syndicated content is coming from 2DayFM (Sydney) and Fox FM (Melbourne) respectively.

The only thing I find local about hit106.9 Newcastle is the advertising.

Chris Smith’s show is actually pretty decent. I don’t mind listening to it. I do notice Chris skews more to the right in his political views than Lawsy and with Newcastle being Labor heartland, many are punishing him with the ratings book it seems.

Imagine what they could do with a strong breakfast show. Nic and Joel are both lovely people but there isn’t a whole lot of on air chemistry.

Joel needs to stop trying to be funny. They should stick to entertainment only. Joel was better on his own because he was focused on entertainment.

Ari and Krivo are a much stronger pair. Krivo in particular has come a long way and his experience shows. The show is a good listen. It’s a shame they didn’t get longer together to see what they could have built on breakfast.
