Triple M remains on top with 22.8%, up 1.7 from the previous survey. This was followed by Hit with 15.2% (-3.3), JJJ with 11.2% (+1.9), New FM with 10.4% (-0.6), and 2HD & ABC Newcastle, who both tied with 5.6% (+0.2 & -1.6 respectively).
In the demos, Hit is #1 in the under-25s, with JJJ topping the 25-39s, Triple M dominating in the 40-64s, and 2HD winning in the 65+.
In breakfast, Triple M’s Tanya & Steve dominate with 24.6% (+0.6), followed by Hit’s Jess & Ducko with 15.8% (-3.0), JJJ’s Concetta & Luka with 11.2% (+2.8), and New FM’s The Novos with Ari & Krivo (they were still in breakfast during the survey) with 9.9% (+2.3). In mornings, Chris Smith on 2HD rated 7.1% (-0.6).
In drive, Triple M’s The Marty Sheargold Show (he was still on-air during the first half of the survey) dominated with 21.4% (-2.2), followed by Hit’s Carrie & Tommy with 16.3% (-4.0), and New FM’s Nic & Joel (who were on drive during the survey) with 13.7% (+2.1).
The “Other Stations” share this survey is at 24.3%, up 2.9 from the previous survey.
It will be interesting to see in the coming surveys on the recent changes that have been happening on New FM & 2HD, which took place after the first ratings survey have been completed, and how it will impact on their ratings going forward.
Congratulations to NewFM. Newcastle’s Number One evenings radio station overall!
Given NewFM’s growth in Drive, I wonder if this audience will follow to Breakfast following the swap.
Also worth noting is that New FM managed to beat Triple M in the 25-39s, which is the first time it happened since Survey 2 of 2021.
1233 actually.
*commercial station.
I knew but couldn’t resist.
Temu T&S in the brekky slot will be interesting to watch - can clearly see they’re positioning themselves for when T&S retire/leave.
1233 collapsed in 55-64s and 65+ yet jumped up six points in nights? Hit down 11.7?
Junk book.
Sure is. Usually get one a year.
