He was pretty scathing about traditional TV news when the Newshub closure was announced and that included TVNZ. Will make interactions with Jodie O’Donnell interesting after she highlighted how well 6pm news was doing last week.
Agreed, this reeks of ACT’s influence (he spoke at their conference last year).
Dean O’Gorman (After the Party, The Hobbit) and Simone Kessell (Yellowjackets, Obi-Wan Kenobi) are among the cast added to Ms. X, the six-part crime comedy-drama for Warner Bros. Discovery’s (WBD) New Zealand free TV network Three and streamer ThreeNow starring Melissa George.

Thanks to the Paramount-Skydance merger deal which set to kick in on Monday (US time), Sky will lose most of its Paramount pay-tv channels which are:
- Comedy Central
- MTV Hits
- MTV 80s
- Nickelodeon
- Nick Jr.
A date for the channel closures hasn’t been announced, but it’s been confirmed these channels will close this year.
Will these channels simply disappear and not appear on another streaming platform?
With the channels closing in NZ, it will be interesting to see if they are removed from Fetch as well.
Just like Foxtel, Sky and satellite TV as a whole is dying a slow and painful death. Bit of a shame to see half the kids channels wiped out with this (only Cartoon Network and Cbeebies will be left after the Nick channels are culled), hopefully one of the generically branded channels the article’s implying Sky has up its sleeve will alleviate that.
It has been a very long since WBD (Three) last had any form of broadcast rights for cricket:

Yeah, sure it is
The broadcast times of these matches aren’t too unfavourable for kiwi audiences, why not stick them on the liner channel also? Probably better than whatever else they’re airing to be fair.
2023 - tour of Bangladesh by NZ.
Forgot that one
Is it just on ThreeNow then rather than linear?
Yes.
It will be interesting to see if Three will rush the true crime documentary Murder by Mushroom to air, following the guilty verdict against Erin Patterson this afternoon. It premieres in Australia tomorrow night (July 8).

Dark watermark on tv2, not sure about it, disappears easily
With Comedy Central closing on Fetch earlier this year, would this mean the localised ANZ Comedy Central feed would shut completely?
