I didn’t say it was exactly like it.

If that’s meant to be the NRL international feed then I hate it. :joy:

Sky UK usually takes the Fox feed

Te Reo has now stopped (28/3/2025). A slide is curently being broadcast saying pretty much that (switching between NZ-English and Te Reo).

Stuff’s Three News studio now for hire …

It’s still available on the Freeview Streaming app. I actually thought it would only stream exclusively on the Māori+ app. I guess streaming is less expensive than satellite and UHF.

Weird the amount of The Project clips they used for the teaser, but some nice empty shots of the studio which might be useful for mocks!

I’m fairly sure they could have found some ex-pat Kiwis in Sydney who would have been willing to take part. Asking people to cover their own costs to get to Sydney is a bit ridiculous.

Especially in this turbulent economy.

Four episodes also seems pretty short for a version of probably the most popular show in New Zealand outside of news right now. Would have expected at least 6-8.

Agree with both of you.

The other thing is The Chase Australia is buried in daytime on a multichannel in NZ - most of the Chasers will have little name recognition.

A quick note that there will be three episodes of Australian Survivor: Brains v Brawn II on TVNZ 2 this week and next week to complete the season. At 7.30pm tonight is episode 21 which was broadcast in Australia three days ago. Episode 22 is on next Monday (April 14) at the same time. TVNZ 2 will then fasttrack episode 23 and 24 on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 15 and 16), two days after their Australian broadcast, as the winner is declared.

Exactly this and The Aussie version is awful imho. They’ve tried numerous times on different networks to make The Chase Au work and all have failed.

But there are people who are able and willing to cover aforementioned costs.

I don’t know why TVNZ have never tried a Kiwi version of The Chase tbh. Get Paul Henry to host, film it in Sydney if they really want to do it on the cheap. It would rate its tits off.

I would have thought they’d try a NZ celebrity version first.

Can’t stand the Aussie version, it’s a wooden as most NZ versions of international shows!
