Season 16 of MasterChef Australia begins on TVNZ 2 tonight. It will air at 7pm Sundays and 7.30pm from Mondays to Wednesdays, with each episode shown three weeks after Australia.
This season sees major changes in judges, with food critic and journalist Sofia Levin, multi–Michelin Star and award-winning chef, Jean-Christophe Novelli, and season 1 runner-up Poh Ling Yeow replacing Melissa Leong and the late Jock Zonfrillo. Melissa remains as co-judge on Dessert Masters, which returns to TVNZ later this year.
Jamie Oliver was the guest judge for the first two weeks of the season, filmed in mid November last year.
