I agree and it’s only got better since Nate left and Jordan joined

Tbh I expected More FM Bfast club to be replaced with Dom Meg & Randell or something…

MediaWorks’ independent review by Maria Dew QC on workplace culture

The independent review report will, if possible, be provided by 31 July 2021.

PJ former KIIS 101.1 Bfeakfast host? she young so I think she would fit in well for the new host

@Michael_Eccles Hrm…

While ZM may not want the listener I don’t think the entire NZME organisation would write them off entirely. I am sure they would be welcomed with open arms by the ZB audience and some of the hosts.

End of an era for sure! They really should take the opportunity to scrap the show entirely and start again after a major exit like this. I would be interested to see what he does next. Still under contract to Mediaworks for now… but that could change. I don’t see a clear next move for him within their existing brands. Would have been great for Hauraki drive but no longer a vacancy there.

Out of all Mediaworks hosts, he’s about the only one I could imagine making a shift to talk radio…

So I’d put money on him moving to a rebranded Magic Talk in the new year…knowing Mediaworks they’ll decide it can be another sister station to one of their other brands and call it something equally as ridiculous as Magic Talk … how about “Shoot The Breeze” lol

Can’t see that.
More to come I reckon on this story.

More FM Breakfast Club in 2022? Or when Gary finally retires?
Or does NZME grab him for the Hits to try and turn their fortunes there?

Yes agree it is odd to walk away 2 days after making the announcement , and if some damning stuff comes out in that workplace review, leaving a day or 2 before it is released is gonna look very sus

Won’t be made public till the following Monday aparently

Hearing rumours about a new More FM Breakfast Club host announcement is imminent. And it’s a TV personality.

Presume it’d need to be Christchurch based? Jason Gunn back fulltime on the airwaves?

Would be the ideal scenario, Lana and Jase back together and no need to replace Gary if he was to leave.

I am sure management would ultimately like to move the national breakfast shift to Auckland.

Not Jason Gunn, but another former kids TV presenter.

Interesting. Guess there’s a few options out there who could move down to Christchurch.

Adam Percival used to do a bit of radio but has kept a low profile for a couple of years.

Matt Gibb is still Aussie based but believe he is from Christchurch originally.

Pj would work well there as it seems she may be more of the edge age demographic
Hope dom
Gets time for himself and maybe a
Clean break for 6 months
Then relaunçh himself
Maybe somewhere like breeze

We all miss Matt Gibb (well known from his Squirt and Studio 2 days) very much…

Nowadays, Adam is producing “What Now” and has worked in both radio and television for 10 years…

I wouldn’t think so.

  1. I don’t think current Mediaworks management are progressive enough to put two headlining females into a primetime show

  2. PJ moved back to NZ to be with her fiance in the Wairarapa. I doubt she would move to Auckland so soon, or that the station would agree to have her broadcast remotely

When she did finish up at Kiis, she did say she was working on something. But what that was, I don’t know

I would say watch this space. I think COVID restrictions in Sydney have delayed his return to New Zealand but he might be back now.
