What was wrong with the sites Mediaworks have for their stations at the moment? They seem okay to me?

No matter how hard today or mw tried no one would compete with zb i think radio pacific lasted a few years but even they fell behind so its nothing new
This is true but Pacific went for way longer than Today did. I think once ZB was rejigged/reinvigorated Pacific kind of lost its way and trailed off by the end - I know after doing quite well in the 90s by around 2006 they were hardly getting any listeners at all (I remember the surveys around that time), yet ZB by that point was basically a juggernaut.
At that point though Radio Live was on the air so all the focus was on that. I think Radio Pacific was only on air during the morning, it was racing coverage outside of that.
All of the Mediaworks sites were redesigned in 2022. I bet itās a cost-cutting exercise of not renewing website domains and just have two (mediaworks.co.nz and rova.nz)
Also looks like a similar move to SCA in Australia using the Listnr website to host their stations web presence.
Website domains are so cheap though, if they canāt afford $30 or so a year each brandā¦!
I guess they might be able cut down on digital content producers.
But rova website matching the rova app makes sense. Hopefully they redesign the app to look the sameā¦
i hope they do something like the global player app with everything in app

Announcement on ZMās Fletch, Vaughan and Hayley this morning that their Senior Producer Jared has been made redundant by NZME.
His last day will be tomorrow

Radio New Zealand has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Collaboration under the MOU has already begun with daily news sharing and content exchange between the ABC and RNZ News teams, as well as a radio and podcast co-production that will launch later this year.

Simon Barnett & James Daniels aired their final afternoons show on ZB today. ZB website refers to generic show page until the new show is announced.

I think he would have his work cut out as he also does gold mornings
I suspect he would have left that and been replaced by Grant Kereama fulltime. Moot point now though.
Yes Andrew posted on his Instagram this week that he was unsuccessful in getting the ZB job.
Mark Richardson would fit well in that slot but I doubt heād want to get back into radio now heās working in finance.
Miles Davis would be ok but it seems ZB have never forgiven him for moving to Today FM for those few months before it was canned
Matt Heath is sharp as and would be good in that slot too imo
Think he moved to Wellington which limited his ability to fill in on network shows that donāt have producers (overnights).
FYI: New Rova website unveiled tomorrow, and expected to be a refresh with the app as well.
No doubt that the owned Mediaworks stationsā websites will be redirected to the new site.
