My understanding is it will either be 6pm Sunday or midnight Sunday/Monday morning.
With Mediaworks running its own news service now are all stations requiring their day announcers to do news reading duties at breakfast? The Sound, The Edge, The Rock, and now Magic and The Breeze are doing it.
More FM news intro has changed this morning. Something along the line of “News from the Today FM newsroom I’m (newsreaders name)
I have seen that creep in as well
Magic Talk’s programming has been a complete mess this morning with pockets of dead air, two things playing at once and some things not playing at all. Mark Bunting has apologised for this, saying that they are in the process of moving to a new studio today.
Probably a fitting end to the station.
The perils of live broadcasting! Fortunately for them they play repeat programming from 1pm on weekends
Must be a late change to the Overnights schedule… no longer talk on the weekend? (Initially was to be Brin Rudkin 12am-5am Thurs-Sat with Danny the other days)
And show pics for Tova and Polly
Not a new pic of Polly… they’ve just edited the below one:
Magic Talk is currently simulcasting Magic Music, sights of preparing to launch Today FM likely around midnight
Going by the below from Carly Flynn it sounds like they’re launching just before 5am?
Probably meant to get a new one taken earlier in the week, her covid result would have changed that.
Commercials for Today FM playing from today. First one went to air on three just before 4pm.
They might even air it during Newshub tonight. I’ll keep an eye out.
Big day for mw Tomorrow
Along with Discovery NZ as well.
Magic Talk has officially switched to the Today FM heartbeat.
Why are they not playing the final magic talk broadcast or magic music?
Here we go ya’ll. The switch to Today FM is officially on.
You can also hear Paul Henry’s voice every 2-3 minutes during the heartbeat.
Yep - during the heartbeat loop which is currently airing, Paul Henry states that the station will launch at 5am.
Wouldn’t it make more sense for Today FM to be airing a pre-launch loop with Henry (who seems to be one of the ‘voices of the station’) doing a longer version of the spiel he did on Mediaworks’ other stations on Friday morning?
Don’t understand how airing a repetitive heartbeat with Henry interrupting every now and again makes more sense (even if Henry does poke fun at it if you listen for long enough).
