The Snake - New show by Fox in the US hosted by Jim Jeffries

Maybe one for 7 if they are looking to get back into the business of having Survivor-style game show with an established personality for the network

Start with the US version in 7+ and do a local version next year if that is successful.

Two things:

  1. Name - Seriously? So unimaginative in that they just decided to chuck ‘The (Blank)’ and call it a day.

  2. Genre - Honestly, the genre’s been overrun by these kind of shows - Survivor, The Mole, The Traitors. There’s really no need to further dilute the market here.

Still I’ll be curious as to how it does anyway - and the market is not over saturated in Australia (we only really have Survivor, especially since Traitors, Summit and the Ch7 “Survivor in the House” version of BB don’t run)

I do enjoy these social-strategy mind game, and I think this format (evicted by group selection, in this chain selection.) has a lot intrigue and potential for drama.

But do agree on the name … maybe “Head of the Snake” could have been better.

We only have one of those shows here in Australia though - survivor.

So…a glorified version of Cluedo?

New casting for “ Australia’s Biggest Gameshow” with Eureka.

According to TV Tonight, it will be a David v Goliath quiz show format, and filmed in Europe.

Could be a very similar format.

Oh goodie, The Chase 2.0
I can already see Seven launching this as a 1-for-1 replacement of The Chase

Would Dating Naked work as an Australian version for a streaming service but styled much like the UK and German, as in the bits and bobs aren’t blurred like they do in the US.

Only asking because I saw the Paramount+ ads for the show and did a little research. Only as far as Wikipedia though.

SBS had that Undressed show in 2017(?) that didnt get very far. They’re not exactly the same but the general idea has been tried before.

I’m thinking that like the UK version, because its on a streaming platform, they can get away with a bit more. Whereas on terrestial you can’t show that much.

I recall the casting for this earlier in the year, so there might be a few Aussies in the cast.

Would this be something that a local channel airs (even in December or January)?
