Sign of the time to see 2 women’s football games from two codes competing on FTA in Sydney and Brisbane this afternoon.

10 have international soccer and 9 have NRLW.

Adelaide and Perth would also have 2 games - soccer plus AFLW on 7Mate.

NRLW is also on in the rest of the country on 9Gem.

So the potential for 3 codes.

Amazing isn’t it! Just 8 years ago this would have been crazy to imagine.

Ten/Paramount ANZ has renegotiated their broadcast agreement with APL. Their coverage will be bumped from the main channel to Bold, but they will now show two matches per week instead of just the one. The second match will screen on Sunday afternoons.

The women’s comp will be bumped off Bold to 10 Play.

Women’s sporting fans won’t be happy about that.

Wonder why they couldn’t keep it on Bold or move it to Peach? Unfortunate move backwards.

I think it’s part of worrying trend for women’s sport at the moment. Just look at recent TV ratings for both AFLW and NRLW matches.

I can see this broadcast deal not going the distance.

The day time game on the Sunday could’ve gone the main challenge and woman’s stay on Bold.

I think it is a good move that the A League has moved from 10 to 10Bold. The main channel’s shares on that night last season were unfortunately dreadful.

Glad thst there wpild be a Sunday arvo game on fta too.

However, its a shame that the women’s comp will be moved to 10 Play.

Nice promo, but doesn’t mean much if they don’t announce some advancements with the app features for the upcoming season.

Embarrassing that 9now, as a free ad supported streamer, offers a better product and experience than Paramount as a global organisation and offering.
