Network Ten and Paramount+ Football coverage

The FTA premiere of Five Bedrooms is on the same night. 10 doesnโ€™t want to interrupt it and MasterChef.

Yeah but they could have pushed it for the Barca match.

Unfortunately, I donโ€™t think it will rate. Masterchef will always take precedence.

I donโ€™t think 10 can afford any more 2.8% shares. Soccer is a niche sport in this country and will only ever attract big numbers for World Cup games.

There was 10,000 in the house (reduced max 12,000). That stand has been closed all season due to renovations.

The fixture for this weekโ€™s A-League Men semi finals has been confirmed.

Melbourne City vs. Adelaide United has entered extra time so 10โ€™s coverage wonโ€™t finish at 4:30 like previously scheduled.

Itโ€™s a thriller and very good quality match. First time Iโ€™ve watched in a long time. They should be airing more day games so people can slowly find the completion. They way theyโ€™ve promoted it has been weird and relying on that one prime time game that no one watches has been a disaster.

Melbourne City and Western United will face off in the Al league men GF next Saturday night at AAMI park.

You wonder if theyโ€™ll sell it out? Moreover I wonder what the Melbourne ratings will be like given no one else across the country will care.

I reckon having a Saturday 2 or 3pm game would work a lot better than the current primetime game. Ratings are abysmal but having competition from AFL and Super Rugby for a large part of the season probably only exacerbates this. An afternoon slot with less live sport competition (probably just horse racing most weekends) would give the competition a bit of clear air and attract more of the FTA sports audience.

I did enjoy todayโ€™s match, and agree that there should be more daytime games - am not fussed whether its either Saturday or Sunday arvos.

Saturday night does have more competition on FTA with the AFL and to to a lesser extent the Super Rugby. But then Saturday afternoons does have some competition too - with some AFL matches played too and 7 does have the odd horse racing too.

Itโ€™s not like 10 has much on during Saturday/Sunday arvos anyway apart from cooking shows and caravan shows.

The numbers are so atrocious that an arvo timeslot just has to be done. Not doing the governing body (whatever they are called now) any favours.
