Network Ten and Paramount+ Football coverage

The Demons?

Potentially interesting for future broadcast contracts…

Virtual advertising banner was used for Brisbane v Newcastle at Sunshine Coast Stadium this evening. An entire row of ads on the far side of the stadium was covered up for TV broadcast.

They’ve done similar I think down in Tassie or up in Ballarat(?) for WU games in the past, plus many rectangular games at Optus. Personally don’t know why more sports aren’t trending that way to save on rental costs - especially given the ads are different for overseas broadcasts anyway.

Random question here:

Is Tristan MacManus still involved with 10’s coverage of the A-League this season? Is previous seasons, he was seen sometimes as the sideline commentator.

Paramount+ will stream live the fifth and final round of AFC World Cup qualifiers, between United Arab Emirates and Iraq, over two legs. The winner will face five other teams in the inter-confederation play-off in Mexico in March next year.

(all times AEDT)

In the fourth round in October, Qatar and Saudi Arabia topped their respective group and reached next year’s FIFA World Cup.

Don’t think so? Haven’t seen him in a while (even last season I don’t think too regularly).

Shame they aren’t playing in Sydney on Sunday to commemorate 20 years since that WCQ vs Uruguay

Surprised 10 aren’t using this as a lead-in to the A-League (could be a good day to spin A-League on main channel or at least game 1 leading to the news)

While we are at it, make up some joint banner or something. Like “Saturday Football”.

There are no A-League Men matches this weekend, one of the designated “international breaks”.

That explains why this is on 10 then.
A-League Women’s is still showing on 10 though - so still
