The Socceroos’ crucial World Cup qualifier against Japan will be held at Perth’s Optus Stadium on June 5 next year. Kick off will be at 7pm Perth time (9pm AEST).
It was revealed last week that the Socceroos will face Indonesia at Allianz Stadium in Sydney on March 20, 2025, with a 8pm AEDT kick off.

Paramount should be looking to beat Nine to the punch in getting Optus Sport and the EPL, maybe aim to buy out the Australian rights to beIN Sports and the Euro “Champions”/Europa/Conference leagues . Aim for the Eurosnob market.
You could have a FTA Saturday night of A-League women, A-League men, an EPL match or two, and Santo, Sam and Ed.

I had quick look and seems this airs in other P+ territories too, I think mainly the US.
Where was airing in Australia previously, does anyone know? Think I saw at one stage BeIN had it, but then wasn’t available anywhere for the last year or so.
Niche, yes, but hopefully a step in the right direction for spruiking their football credentials as a prelude to bidding for some of those other rights…

I wish one of the streamers could get all the big football competitions. I miss the old days of ALeague and then on to the EPL on Fox Sport and I think they had the Champions League and Europa League too from memory. Paramount+ or Stan would be good but it would be good to see Nine put some football on FTA like Paramount+ does with the ALeague.
Champions and Europa was on ESPN for a long time which put them on the Foxtel system but was never on Fox Sports like A league and EPL
