Sign of the time to see 2 women’s football games from two codes competing on FTA in Sydney and Brisbane this afternoon.

10 have international soccer and 9 have NRLW.

Adelaide and Perth would also have 2 games - soccer plus AFLW on 7Mate.

NRLW is also on in the rest of the country on 9Gem.

So the potential for 3 codes.

Ten/Paramount ANZ has renegotiated their broadcast agreement with APL. Their coverage will be bumped from the main channel to Bold, but they will now show two matches per week instead of just the one. The second match will screen on Sunday afternoons.

The women’s comp will be bumped off Bold to 10 Play.

Women’s sporting fans won’t be happy about that.

Wonder why they couldn’t keep it on Bold or move it to Peach? Unfortunate move backwards.

I think it’s part of worrying trend for women’s sport at the moment. Just look at recent TV ratings for both AFLW and NRLW matches.
