Netflix

interesting as season 2 dropped an episode at a time.

It’s from News.ltd I am sure I could find 700 reasons why this is a load of crap…

Yes. I thought that too.

Yeah because The Simpsons will really kill Netflix. That show hasn’t been relevant for years. Sad what passes for ‘journalism’ these days.

That’s just a flat out lie from News. Various seasons of The Simpsons are available, and have been for at least a couple of years, to watch as pay-per-view on Google Play Movies, Apple, Microsoft Store and PlayStation.

I’ve been watching The Critic on YouTube. It’s a better show, I think.

I watch mostly movies on Netflix.

streaming is not the same as video on demand purchases

I actually think that despite all the media companies pulling content from Netflix to launch their own services that we’ll see some of the fold and revert back to licensing content as the viewers just won’t subscribe to every platform out there and ultimately they’ll be losing money.
All the big media companies have gotten jealous of the success Netflix have had and all want a piece of the pie I just don’t know that the diversification of streaming platforms is going to work our long term… I know I’m nearing my limits now with Netflix, Stan, Amazon, Hulu and the upcoming Disney+ and out of all the services I have I’m very unlikely to drop Netflix tbh.

In the first four weeks of release, Stranger Things season 3 was watched by 64 million member households, Netflix said in the Q3 letter to shareholders. The company previously boasted that 40.7 million accounts watched the show in the first four days of its July 4 debut, marking its biggest-ever audience for a movie or TV series in a four-day window.

What’s important to note: The data isn’t independently verifiable. Moreover, Netflix records a “view” of a series if a member account watches just one episode to at least 70% completion.

14 hrs ago and they still haven’t changed it to say Season 3.

Do you think the cinema release will become a common thing?

True.

Although Simpsons is available on streaming on FOX8 via Foxtel Now, so that bit in the article is still wrong.

Certainly got that right!

In what capacity though? And is Foxtel now SVOD or BVOD? There would be licensing differences there too.

Simpson’s streams the current season on Hulu in the US the day after it airs on FOX

It is compulsory if the movies are to be eligible for awards like the Golden Globes, the SAGs and the Academy Awards.

You can only watch The Simpsons via Foxtel Now at the times it is broadcast on Fox8, the same way you can watch it on 7Mate on FreeviewFV. It’s not available in the on demand library. I don’t know what you would technically call that, but it’s not very ‘on demand’ (and there are in show ads as well).

Ash Vs The Evil Dead is coming November 1 if Finder is correct. I thought Stan had a deal with Starz exclusively and Lionsgate, perhaps it is different when shows have ended . It’s not expiring on Stan . Probably like Masters of Sex being on Prime and Stan.

Narcos going to SBS next month, sort of seems like a SBS type show.

It stars Christian Serratos (The Walking Dead) as singer Selena.
