Such a shame that we in Australia will be behind on episodes. Just go back to 5 nights a week. We dont need more repeats of Friends and Big Bang Theory on Fridays.
I guess they’re trying to focus on their main audience and prevent them from getting spoilers before the episodes are screened, but if they must do this then how about screening the UK, then Australia on the same day. Go back to 5 days per week, just with the UK episode screened first. I’d be happy with that but it would ruin it for me if we fall weeks behind.
maybe this is why the UK is getting the upper hand in airing episodes… because the UK acknowledges the show exists and its viewers give it awards, etc. In Australia its own channel treats it on the same level as 20-year old re-runs of Friends and apart from its die-hard fans nobody knows it still exists.
I would assume most people think it was cancelled 10 years ago when it disappeared from the main channel.
there are people who act genuinely surprised when I mention that the show is still going
I guess that proves my point.
I think i mentoned earlier in the thread a good friends sister has had a reoccurring role in neighbors. i reakon 20 years ago if you were in neighbors you’d stuggle to walk down the street. now when we have coffee together she might get 3 or 4 people approchh
If Ten don’t want to schedule an episode on a Friday due to low ratings, could they instead air the show Sunday to Thursday, or a double episode on Thursdays?
this is why i stopped watching free to air ages ago
Neighbours actress Charlotte Chimes (Nicolette Stone) has revealed she contracted Covid and had to isolate for 10 days. She is the first Neighbours actor to contract it but nobody else in the cast has it.
Speaking on the Big Natural Talents podcast, she said she is double vaxxed so it just felt like a really bad cold and she was very fatigued. She only had to be written out of one episode and she had to film the scenes she missed when she returned to work.
Caught the season finale of Neighbours tonight. Spoilers ahead.
Summary
Cool how it’s come full circle with the whole balcony storyline 30 years later. I did find it a bit jarring though how Wednesday & Thursdays episode skipped forward a couple weeks to Christmas Day considering they showed the date (Monday, 6 December) ON Monday night.
And boy was the trailer for next year juicy! New characters, new locations, a hurricane and of course a death.
One small thing though, I wish they didn’t include the shot of Paul saying to Harlow “Therese fell because you left her alone and you’re worried about some file” because, gleaming all the context of the shot, it eludes to Therese surviving the fall/it not being that serious an event. Without that one shot, it would’ve been a true cliff hanger IMO.
Still though, a good trailer and I’ll definitely be watching in 2022. I really am wondering who dies though.
What’s the axe for? The ratings have been higher this year than they have been in the last few years.
I haven’t always liked some of the storylines this year but they’ve certainly created a lot of interest. The Aaron/David/Nicolette drama brought in a lot of new viewers, and now the promos show that someone dies early next year so the various facebook pages are full of speculation as to who meets their demise.
Promo for Neighbours returns 3 January 2022. It’s a shame networks don’t do their annual new season promos for the whole network any more like this but at least Neighbours has done one.
Amazing to think the old ATV0/10 building is still standing after all these years.
