I hope not!
When the show returned this year it was heading in anew direction that felt like if you were a new viewer, you didnt need to know the past.
Now however, since flashback week the show has reverted back to being a show solely to retain the viewers it still had before it finished up last year.
Most of those have returned as guests for the finale or the return with the exception of Lyn, Steph, Rebecca, Kate (she died though) and Sophie.
The show does not need any more returnees. It needs new blood and new families. The Rodwells and the Varga-Murphy families are the only new ones in a long time.
I know they have existing characters living in Ramsay Street but they need to look at either finding new members of their extended families or move them out.
I think the first mistake was bringing back the same Executive Producer. He is clearly too emotionally invested in the show and is just interested in bringing back old characters unnecessarily. The show needs new blood with new ideas.
Unfortunately, Kate Ramsay was killed off.
But was she…??

She’d be a higher profile return too, having starred on B&B in the US for a number of years from 2015, as well as starring on Home and Away and mates with Margot Robbie and social media personality.
But you seriously want another “back from the dead” storyline?
Nobody wants her back anyway. Kate, Sophie and Harry Ramsay were created from a very unpopular retcon. Many fans were scathing at the time of the rewrite of history and slammed the executive producer for destroying the reputation of past characters and the history of the core families on the show.
You see, the retcon involved Max Ramsay having an affair with Ann, the wife of his best mate Jim Robinson. Then her mother Helen Daniels supposedly helped hide the birth of the illegitimate child and gave it away for adoption. Then supposedly, Jill Ramsay somehow had her father’s surname and her three kids also did. 
This storyline 
on the reputations of Max, Ann and Helen.
That was the worst retcon in the history of the show. But it didn’t take long for the next executive producer to top that with the Tanaka twins turning out to be Paul Robinson’s biological children. And then the infamous Andrea Somers turning out to be the separated at birth twin sister of Dee Bliss, who was then back from the dead. She supposedly had faked her death after her wedding to Toadie because mobsters had tried to kill her.
Bringing back Paul’s extended family is just boring, they add nothing.
Haz is really being written as a manipulative and controlling person.

In what way? He strikes me as a goofball/dorky guy with no real purpose.
And we need someone to run Harold’s Cafe, who always has to live on Ramsay Street 
I agree with that . It did really do damage to Helen Daniel’s a character. I am not sure what the writers were thinking on their part .
Kate was not so bad in the beginning but when she started complaining about looking after Sophie , and pining after Kyle- she was just another character ther went down south quickly.
So we know that she became a teacher how did she become a teacher within 3 years of leaving high school?
I think three years of uni would have been normal but she was actually in a classroom after about 18 months.
Toadie also infamously became a lawyer after 2 years of uni.
Neighbours has never done Uni well, The characters show up for like 2-weeks onscreen then they never go back.
It also really bothered me Kate was seemingly a full qualified teacher by the end of the 2010 season when she only had started Uni near the beginning of that season.
I wish they neighbours creatives would bring back the radio station,Eden hills University and Erinsborough news but maybe it costs to much money to use these sets I don’t know does anybody know why?
I think the radio station started off as if it was a pirate radio station which was really cool, but then it morphed into something awful like a high school radio station which was rather lame.
Can’t see a future for a local newspaper office. Many of the suburban newspapers have merged, stopped printing or moved online these day. The offices of Erinsborough News had moved into the Lassiters Complex before the police station moved in. Not sure if thd newspaper folded but in later years the West Waratah Star was thd local newspaper that covered local issues.
Eden Hills Uni was introduced as a set and a refreshed new set on two occasions. In both cases, the sets weren’t fully utilised. They seem to run out of storylines and uni students quite quickly.
Agree, especially as most of these are long forgotten characters with tenuous links at best. Jane was the template for how you return a character.
One I was happy to see again was Richie. He wasn’t on the show all that long ago and I’d like to see him return and build a solid friendship with Mackenzie.
So first we see a newby finding pieces of glitter on the street, now Toadie is finding pieces of confetti from his wedding to Melanie. Unless Melanie has put it there herself in recent days (a possibility I guess), this is way too ridiculous even for a soapy.
Wasn’t that two years ago in the Neighbours cannon now? Like is confetti just going to be found 2+ years after the fact.
