Hopefully now Gav has time to do a separate Central Coast weather forecast on weeknights (as opposed to the current combined Newcastle one).
âŚand with the channel feeds having been split for a while now, separate forecasts for the lower (Taree/Port Macquarie) and upper (Coffs/Clarence) Mid North Coasts!
No change, unfortunately.
Was anyone really expecting weather forecast changes tonight?
Personally I wouldnât have expected any until (at least) the studio move happens.
Thanks, yes, I have 9NBN Central Coast here at Charlestown, Iâm not surprised at this point.
Maybe soon, hopefully.
Sorry boss.
Interesting to note that NBN failed to acknowledge Peter Sterling as one of their commentators tonight even though there is a giant logo behind him!
They do really have an issue acknowledging network branding.
No mention of Nine or Stan Sport re Wimbledon coverage in sport.
And there was no Central Coast sport window tonight, the Newcastle one was aired, presumably because of the COVID lockdown. At the end of local sport there was an inappropriate comment from Mitchell Hughes ⌠âitâs so good that sport is still being playedâ which wouldnât have gone done well with any Central Coast viewers that were watching.
Probably not that many?
One would imagine that most Central Coast viewers watch the real Channel Nine (or Seven) at 6pm!
Kind of makes you wonder why they bother with a Central Coast window.
Theyâd be better off airing the Newcastle or Sydney bulletin and airing noodle updates.
You have nothing better to do then worry about dumb stuff like this.
Itâs a state of origin story? Why not super him as Blues Great.
Along with being a âBlues Greatâ as per the super, it should just about go without saying that Peter Sterling has been a major part of Nineâs rugby league coverage for three decades.
Even with a great big WWOS logo in the background, TCN probably wouldâve reminded us via an on-screen super that Sterlo is a Nine Sports Broadcaster/Commentator when they ran that report!
Itâs about branding. I know it might seem like a moot point to some like you, but this is what this site is about.
If I was a Central Coast resident Iâd watch Nine News Sydney over NBN News.
NBN still insists on airing words like âOur Premierâ in their scripts which is useless in Queensland but Iâd say the vast majority of Gold Coasters are watching the Brisbane metros at 6.
Yeah Metro bulletins rule when they go head to head with regional news bulletins.
Hadnât really noticed this before, but during the Central Coast sport pre-records, you can see what looks to be âHot Seatâ on the TV monitors in the top right.
So this was recorded somewhere between 5-6pm. Would be interesting to know the order in which markets are recorded, or if it depends on if thereâs any urgent or breaking news happening anywhere.
Hang on, havenât you spent the last several months complaining about Nine News Local not being relevant to local markets and now the WIN News merging local markets together?
âIâd watch Nine News Sydney over NBN Newsâ doesnât seem like a good way to support local news, does it? Especially since NBN is the only station that provides any local news in the Central Coast, much less a full bulletin.
Agreed.
Of course even though Iâm a Sydneysider through and through, where possible (since it can sometimes be âhit and missâ as to whether accommodation on the Central Coast get the regionals) I always try and watch NBN News Central Coast on any trips up there!
Thereâs more Newcastle news than there is Central Coast news, so itâs not a totally convincing effort.
But yes, itâs more than what you get on Prime7 and 10(WIN).
Holly Williams and Lara Coffey have been filing the Central Coast reports in recent weeks, but I have yet to see either of them on screen at allâŚ
Makes me wonder if they are covering the news from Newcastle or somewhere else, with maybe just a cameraman on the ground? (as there is some footage).
