If there really were issues between NBN and TCN I’d doubt they’d keep using Gavin Morris on Today and have Jane Goldsmith in Sydney the past few Saturday’s doing reports and stand-ups.

Problem on NBN News tonight. Paul Lobb started a story saying “Byron Shire Council is cracking down…” and then started laughing, at which point the sound cut out but the vision of him laughing continued. Screen then went black before a beeping countdown from 10 appeared. After the countdown he restarted the story but just after the start of the next story, an ad break cut in.

Last I heard he was overseas, good to see he picked up a job after coming back. Is he back on fulltine with 9 or just filing reports out of Newcastle for them.
Grace Fitzgibbon reporting in the 2 events at Maitland over the weekend for the network, not sure who did it locally.

I don’t think he’s in Newcastle. Last week I think he filed a report on the Test cricket, so I assume he’s in Sydney now.

At a time when other networks have their “A-Team” news team back behind the desk by now, neither Paul Lobb or Natasha Beyersdorf were presenting tonight, Jane Goldsmith was (and on her own).
Which is no great loss - I think she’s a better presenter than Paul or Natasha anyway.

Last night during the Kyrgios match at about 10pm we received a promo for NBN News at 6 (which was incidentally much smoother and nicer than the general NBN News promos). Big Dog also came on at 11pm (for those who don’t know, Big Dog comes on at 7:30pm to announce that it’s bedtime). Something was going on!

11pm! Lol, that IS late, Big Dog was either misbehaving or had parents who were being especially generous last night. Very different to being sent to bed at 5.30 like has happened in the past.
On the subject of news promos, most of them now look to be in HD, which is good to see. Local cameras are probably then HD, but I assume the raw footage is then sent down to Sydney for the promos to be produced there.
It’s waaaay better than the shocking picture quality of the 6pm bulletin.

Where has Mitch, Kate and Adam gone? Don’t know how much longer I can listen to Samantha Poate do sport.
Kate’s been quite unwell recently with recurring sinus infections.
Not sure about Mitch and Adam.
Sammy’s voice could do with some work - she’s a lovely person.
Lydia now at Nine Sydney so they’re down a few at the moment.
