If anyone has video of Newcastle weather tonight, it is absolutely hilarious with Gav in the dark and asking for Tash to turn the flashlight on her phone on.

Gav was certainly getting milage out of that one.

Why didn’t he just read off camera or from the desk? Doesn’t look like the lights went out with no time to improvise.

Was the thunderstorm localised entirely to the studio lights?

All computer gear & expensive gear is almost always protected by a UPS but lights are not.

Just like when there is a power outage at Woolies… the checkouts still work but the fridges don’t

Doesn’t explain the similar tech horrors on Darwin’s bulletin the same night.

QTQ crew must not have been up to scratch.

A nine produced promo just aired promoting a QR code story with NBN News graphics and voiceover throughout the promo…… but they forgot to change the Nine News bug in the bottom left

The thunderstorm had no impact at all - it was technical issues on QTQ’s end.

Nice intro from Gavin on the weather tonight…

“Welcome to your edge of your seat weather presentation… you can see me, which is good, you can hear me, will the weather graphics play their part, let’s find out”.

And it all went off without a hitch!

What are the ratings like for NBN News at the moment since Gavin started reading with Natasha?

I forgot to mention - new local backgrounds (for Newcastle window at least) and new backgrounds on the weather outlook at the end of the bulletin.

And a lot better broadcasts this week. Timing and pacing good and lots more local stories.

Still same backdrop on Central Coast window.

Central Coast got the Newcastle local news window last night, saw those new backdrops. Looks nice.

No Mid North Coast local window tonight. The Northern Rivers window aired instead.

It shouldn’t have been content related as a couple of Mid North Coast items appeared in the Central Coast window tonight (illegal oyster farming in the Hastings, and an independent MP campaign launch in Coffs Harbour).
