It was the '80s. Every channel had them
It feels like a very American thing to have, it’s the sort of thing I’d expect someone who titles their broadcasts “Action News” to operate.
I believe at one point NBN shared an earlier helicopter with the agency that ended up running the rescue helicopter that is based out of Newcastle as well.
(That particular helicopter has an interesting history too - it was previously Reginald Ansett’s personal helicopter)
one day I’ll bring back helicopters with a big ‘6’ on the side
Claudia Vrdoljak, formerly of Prime News Central West, is now reporting for NBN.
Interesting IV with Paul Lobb.
22 minutes
He makes mention that he is the main anchor is there a difference between himself and the other anchors?
Not in my eyes, he and Natasha were equals… if that’s his view, it might be no wonder he was axed.
Its mentioned a few times and yet at no time was there any mention of the female co hosts when talking about the history of NBN News anchors when they referred to the fact that only three male hosts have hosted , guess they didn’t count weekends either.
That’s right. John Church never rates a mention. He was Ray Dineen’s stand in and read weekend news for multiple years.
Another one on MMM
We got the first 10 seconds of the Sydney bulletin tonight…
Not much in the way of technical issues tonight otherwise, one of the reporters in a Live cross was momentarily caught off guard, but that was about it I think.
And this week is the last of solo presenters on weeknights, Gav and Tash duo starts next Monday, I’ll be interested to see how that goes.
How’s NBN News rating at the moment since Paul Lobb was made redundant?
Yummy!
Oh, you mean Triple M?
TCN started their news bulletin about 45 seconds early so NBN viewers got Peter Overton’s full intro… then at 6pm NBN started their news.
TCN and master start at 5.59:30 and have for many years.
I saw it as well. Wouldn’t surprise me if Brisbane were caught off guard again - it’s happened a bit because of the tennis where we get Sydney for a few seconds.
The rest has been pretty good recently, no major issues.
Or maybe deliberate prime time exposure for the 9 News brand ahead of the eventual and inevitable disposal of the NBN News brand as we know it.
Do you believe vaccines have a tracking device too?
What does that have to do with what he said?
Not only did we receive Sydney’s full intro, but on the Far North Coast, at the end, Tash reading the weather was cut off halfway through by Tash doing the closer…
Local windows were often getting cut short under the “old” (pre Nov 2021) NBN News format (though more likely to have black screens and no sound at the end whilst waiting for Newcastle to finish), the timing of windows is generally done much better now, but that’s an interesting one you’ve seen.
