Take note 7 Melbourne. How much better is this layout coming from a commercial office tower.

Montage of the first ever Nightly News with Tom Llamas from the people at NewscastStudio (which recently simplified its name to NCS as they started to cover more of the industry in addition to US TV presentation). Little change to the graphics and presentation other than a few tweaks to the opening scenes of the show (including the opener, which added a wipe), camera positions and the studio design; the pushback was also heavily redesigned in the style of the headline sequence. Still marking “Breaking News” for all stories that are presented on the A-block. They were also a few technical issues during the broadcast. Llamas signs off with the phrase “Tonight, and always, we are here for you”.

CW: the montage features some footage from the Boulder attack.

He also appears to now be hosting Top Story from Studio 1A, using the Today desk against the corner video wall.

‘My Source for News Opinion and the World’ is the stupidest name for a news channel I’ve ever heard.

da heck is this nonsense

MSNBC will have to take a new name in months to come as it seeks to carve out an identity that will have it competing for scoops and news with current corporate sibling NBC News. MSNBC will soon come to be known as My Source for News Opinion and the World, or MS NOW, following the spin off of the bulk of NBCUniversal’s cable assets into a new publicly traded company called Versant. The changes were detailed in a memo to staffers Monday by Mark Lazarus, who will run Versant as its founding CEO.

No worse than Sky Sports News HQ HD (yes that really was a thing for a while) and Sky Sports.com TV (ditto).

I actually thought that MS Now logo was a mock when I first saw it. I’ve seen better logos in the mocks thread on here.

Should have just used the Sky News name

And this doesn’t stop here: CNBC will drop the Peacock and have a new logo when the demerger kicks in.

CNBC will retain its current name, but will also get a new logo that nods to its history and expertise in business news, Lazarus said.

Furthermore, sports content under Versant will have the USA Sports banner.

I give it 12 months and then we are back at MSNBC!

Unlikely as MSNBC and the cable channels are being divested into a new publicly listed company with little connection back to NBC. They’ll make those channels sink or swim.

Why is CNBC allowed to keep it’s name? Doesn’t make much sense if they have to change MSNBC’s name because it has NBC in it.

CNBC is an acronym. Consumer News and Business Channel, it’s just a coincidence that it has NBC in it.

" CNBC was founded in April 1989 as the Consumer News and Business Channel , a joint venture between NBC and Cablevision."

Not that much of a coincidence.

MSNOW is absolutely hilarious. Bankok street market vibes, like Abibas shoes and Prado handbags.

This entire spin out of C tier cable channels is insane to me. MSNBC, CNBC, Golf Channel? Only makes sense if they think it will get acquired by WBD or Paramount immediately, no chance it survives long term.
