Sad but true. All the American breakfast shows are a former shell of themselves. GMA and Today lost their shine ages ago, whilst CBS This Morning has been losing appeal ever since they got rid of Norah O’Donnell and John Dickerson for Anthony Mason and Tony Dokoupil.

And they are now dumping the former of the current two for a former NFL wide receiver and football commentator a la GMA with Michael Strahan. They’re also moving their studios across the street from GMA in Times Square.

Probably more appropriate for the CBS News topic but do we know where is Anthony heading off to? If they’ve dumped him just like that then they’ve lost the plot completely.
EDIT: He’s becoming the ‘Cultural Correspondent’ whatever that’s supposed to be. Again great talent being sidelined as the show becomes increasingly tabloid, commercialised and downmarket.
