Out 2 Lunch Festival postponed until 2027 amid cost pressures

This year’s Out 2 Lunch Festival officially postponed until 2027.

However, organisers say current cost-of-living pressures, combined with broader economic uncertainty and fuel supply challenges, have made it increasingly complex to deliver the event to a high standard.

Olivia Dean has replaced herself at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart, her collaboration with Sam Fender “Rein Me In” displacing “Man I Need” at the top.

Next week we could see an Olivia knock an Olivia off top spot, Olivia Rodrigo having dropped her comeback song “Drop Dead” today.

Dean’s album “The Art of Loving” remains in top spot on the Albums chart.

How long before Woolies has this pulled down?

I’ll give it a week

Dracula by Time Impala (including a version with JENNIE) #2 in the UK and #17 in the US this week.

Also, #1 Germany, #2 Greece, #3 Slovakia & Latvia.

And what’s the bet that they’ll convert more stores to the Home format where there is no physcial media?

ARIA Charts Update

Singles: Olivia has knocked Olivia off top spot, with “drop dead” by Olivia Rodrigo debuting at number one.

Olivia Dean takes up the top three with “Man I Need” at number two, and last week’s chart-topping collaboration with Sam Fender “Rein Me In” dropping to number three.

Albums: Dean’s “The Art of Loving” remains in top spot.

We were talking a while ago about how Zara Larsson has an old song Lush Life back at the top of hhe charts around the world but in Australia because ARIA changed the rules for old music to be included in the current chart.

That’s fine. But why have Justin Bieber/Nicki Minaj been allowed to make a return to the top of the Australian chart this week with old song Beauty And A Beat?

Basically the rule allows a significant cultural moment - here Coachella, and the song needs to be played enough to reach the Top 30, which is why it didn’t chart last week.

This is from ARIA

  • Special provisions have been introduced allowing older tracks experiencing renewed popularity to re-enter the ARIA Main Charts for a short window. This is to make sure we celebrate viral moments, major sync placements, or significant anniversaries that drive renewed success for music and deserve celebration.

  • The special provision allowing older titles to re-enter the ARIA Main Charts are:

    • If the title has not appeared in the Top 100 for at least 10 years

    • Upon label request and sufficient activity for a Top 30 or higher placement

    • Eligible titles can remain on the Main Charts for up to 10 weeks

Thanks for that.

Wow! So many rules and exceptions. It’s crazy. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
