This is something I donât get.
Ozzy Osbourne dies and 2 days later, half of his songs are in the iTunes Top 10 ???
His music hasnât charted for years otherwise.
People listening to his music again (or for the first time) after this death. Happens a lot when ever a musician kicks the bucket
I think this is the norm when an artist passes away, their music gets a major resurgence in downloads/streaming etc.
From memory, some (if not most) of Michael Jacksonâs discography charted in Australia in the week following his death in 2009.
3AWâs Rumour File reported this morning that the AFL is considering inviting Snoop Dogg to perform at this yearâs AFL Grand Final.
Yes but not to that extent⊠not half the Top 10 given most of his music was bespoke and were never big charters to begin with.
I could understand a better known song like âParanoidâ making such a comeback, but thatâs about it.
Of course, his music was much bigger / more popular than Ozzy Osbourneâs.
I would suggest that thereâs probably an element of discovery from listeners rather than seeking out his well known hits given his profile probably outshone the profile of his musical output - at least in the last 25 years.
People looking for why his music was popular versus just replaying Paranoid or War Pigs.
Paralympic swimming champion Alexa Leary has released her first single.

One will also be kept as a touring figure and appear at various Madame Tussauds globally. It will kick off its residency in Shanghai.
At the footy industry summit in Melbourneâs Marvel Stadium this afternoon, AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon said that an announcement on this yearâs grand final entertainment could be made as early as this week. He did not rule out Snoop Dogg as the headline act.
