Meanwhile, in the UK charts, I have been reminded that they have a 3 singles restriction for their Singles Chart.

The key change will be to allow artists to have only their 3 most popular tracks (based on sales and streams) to feature in the Official Singles Chart Top 100 . The move will make it easier for new hits and artists to feature in the chart by preventing multiple tracks from popular artists dominating the singles chart.

Therefore, there are only three singles by Taylor Swift in the UK chart this week. Not 20 like Australia.

If only the ARIA Charts had that rule in effect…

then this means that whenever the likes of Ed Sheeran and Olivia Rodrigo (for example) release their next albums, they won’t flood the singles charts. This happens all too often when Taylor Swift releases an album, as you have alluded to.

That’s one of my favourite songs by Sam Smith (though technically he was a featured artist in that said song).

Others include “Stay With Me”, “Like I Can”, “Money on My Mind” and “Too Good at Goodbyes”.

I wonder what the ARIA Hitseekers Albums Charts are all about.

What I do know is that the offerings by Mimi Webb and Freya Ridings (“Amelia” and “Blood Orange”, respectively) peaked at #2 and #15 on these charts.

The former’s album also peaked at #41 on the Digital Albums chart.

John Farnham currently has 10 songs in their Top 20 with the release of his ‘Finding The Voice’ film.

What’s the worst song you’ve ever heard…

I had the misfortune of being reminded of this one the other day somehow… it’s everything… the cheesy lyrics, the quality of the vocals, the guitar playing… obviously only ever got anywhere because he was a big TV star back then…

So true. A song that was very briefly mentioned last night was a song I’d long forgotten about, ‘Jillie’s Song’, which he wrote for his wife. John Farnham puts so much passion into everything he sings, but listening to this song again today actually gave me goosebumps.

Spotify revealed it would be increasing the price of its Premium Individual plan from $11.99 to $12.99 per month.

Its Premium Duo plan for two accounts will increase from $15.99 to $17.99 per month, while its Premium Family plan for up to six accounts will increase from $18.99 to $20.99 per month, and Premium Student plan will increase from $5.99 to $6.99 per month.
