VR Breaking News set?
Was 10 the first to announce their broadcast, and the others followed?
Seven announced they were showing it the day it was announced it was to be filmed.
Extended Today and Sunrise tomorrow morning?
But currently without separate brandings. Only 10 has at least given a title āErin Patterson sentenceā.
My expectation tomorrow is just breaking news supers and not much else.
EPGs also have no late changes, although itās probably because the event is inside the daily morning news slots anyway.
Actually, just thinking, are they even allowed to brand it?
10 is branding it I believe as it has no news in the mornings
Interesting the commericials all havenāt updated their online guides yet.
Thereās really no need for Seven and Nine to change the EPG is the broadcast is another component of TMS and Today Extra. There is often breaking news coverage that doesnāt change the EPG.
Iām assuming all Melbourne Stations (7,9,10) will deliver a national feed for the rest of the country?
But depends if both breakfast shows will be extended on 7 and 9
We will see what happens on Tuesday morning, when the ratings come out. Although we have known for days that Seven and Nine will cover this, they will have preliminary numbers for The Morning Show and Today Extra to āboostā these shows ratings.
Then in the seven-day-ratings-release, we will see how they will code the mornings events. Sunrise and Today up to 9.30? āThe sentenceā at 9.30am. TMS and Today Extra at 10am
Seven was just saying āsocial media feedsā on 6pm last week (at least outside of Melbourne).
Yeah I would go with this
The Age says that broadcasters will not be allowed to advertise if they are broadcasting the sentence - whether that extends to actual branding (i.e. logos and supers) remains to be seen.
ABC have updated their EPG with an extended morning news block on the main channel for all states except WA, and both the main channel and the mornings block on the news channel say they will be taking the coverage, and list reporters.
Why is any of this neccessary?
Because the court believes that in this case it is āin the publicās interestā for the verdict to be made available to be broadcasted and live streamed - however, IMO, it kinda feels like the court is just caving to popular opinion rather than it legitimately being in the publicās interest.
That contradicts what the Court literally saysā¦
This does not specify branding so whether thereās any is up to them.
The Age is referring to when they are actually broadcasting sentence, not any promotion in advance.
Will there be any pre and post coverage by anyone outside of regular programming.
Not sure how 10s will work if Jen is hosting as it starts at 9.30 so thereās no time logically
