Why am I not surprised that ViacomCBS ANZ are closing this down, they seemingly are not interested in digital publishing as evident by the closure of 10 daily and not having a news website.

Oasis Knebworth 1996 Concert Film Coming To MTV And Paramount+.

Oasis Knebworth 1996. Premieres Friday, 19 November On MTV.

10 ViacomCBS today announced the highly anticipated concert film Oasis Knebworth 1996 will premiere on MTV across its worldwide network in 180 countries on Friday, 19 November at 8pm. Fans will also be able to watch the film on its streaming service Paramount+ from Thursday, 25 November.

Directed by GRAMMY®-Award winner Jake Scott, Oasis Knebworth 1996 celebrates one of the most iconic live concerts of the last 25 years and the special relationship between Oasis and their fans. The story is told through the eyes of the concertgoers and features extensive and never-before-seen archival concert and backstage footage, plus interviews with the band and event organizers.

Liam Gallagher said, “Knebworth for me was the Woodstock of the ‘90s. It was all about the music and the people. I can’t remember much about it, but I’ll never forget it. It was biblical.”

Noel Gallagher said, “I can’t believe we never played ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star!’”

“ViacomCBS has a long and storied history with Oasis dating back to their infamous performance on MTV Unplugged and unforgettable appearances on MTV’s The Jon Stewart Show and 120 Minutes,” said Bruce Gillmer, President of Music, Music Talent, Programming and Events, ViacomCBS and Chief Content Officer, Music, Paramount+. “This film will give audiences an all-access pass into these iconic concerts that defined an era and catapulted Oasis to legendary status.”

Oasis’ two record-breaking nights at Knebworth took place on August 10 and 11 in 1996, with over a quarter of a million young music fans from all over the world converging on Knebworth Park, Hertfordshire in England to see the legendary sets. All tickets sold out in less than 24 hours, breaking every U.K. box office record in the process.

The monumental shows were set against a backdrop of the U.K. slowly recovering from a decade of recession. A cultural resurgence in arts and culture was giving rise to “Cool Britannia,” and in their meteoric rise to becoming one of the biggest bands in the world, Oasis embodied that newfound optimism and swagger. Featuring a setlist packed with classics, from the opening salvo of “Columbia” and “Acquiesce,” to “Champagne Supernova,” “Don’t Look Back In Anger,”’ “Live Forever,” a triumphant, orchestra-backed “I Am The Walrus,” and the chart-topping hit “Wonderwall,” the Knebworth concerts were both the pinnacle of the band’s success and the landmark gathering for a generation.

The film is produced by Black Dog Films for Kosmic Kyte Ltd. Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher serve as executive producers. It is financed and distributed by Sony Music Entertainment and was released in cinemas worldwide Sept. 23 by Trafalgar Releasing.

The “MTV EMA Generation Change Award” is a part of an expanded partnership between MTV Entertainment (MTVE), a division of ViacomCBS, and All Out, the leading global LGBTQ+ advocacy group, and part of ViacomCBS’ Content for Change initiative.

Additionally, MTV celebrated all the local EMA winners from different regions around the globe with Ruel taking home the Best Local Act award for Australia and Teeks for New Zealand.

The EMAs were also shown live on 10 Peach this morning, but last week’s press release didn’t say the event would also be on FTA.

I am really enjoying the Aus MTV channel and don’t want it to go at the end of the month. Every now and then I flick to it and find all these gems from years ago that you wouldn’t see anywhere else. It’s been great.

New Episode of MTV’s Iconic Grammy and Emmy Award-Winning Music Series Premieres Thursday, 23 December At 8.00pm On MTV.

MTV today announced Grammy-nominated British rock band Bastille will perform in the global music special, MTV Unplugged: Bastille, premiering Thursday, 23 December on MTV internationally in 180 countries.

Taped in front of an intimate audience at Porchester Hall in London, the special features Bastille performing stripped-back renditions of fan favorites including “Pompeii,” “Happier,” and “Daniel in the Den,” plus covers of classics including Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly.” The evening also features a performance of the band’s new song and title track from their upcoming album,“ Give Me the Future,” releasing in early 2022 through EMI Records.

Bastille said, “We are all ridiculously excited to have been asked to play a show for MTV Unplugged. There are so many legendary, classic Unplugged sets that we love by The Cure, Nirvana and Pearl Jam, and it’s an honour to be asked to follow in the footsteps of all these sensational musicians who we’ve all looked up to for ages. We love the challenge of rearranging our music and having just made an album that’s much more electronic, the idea of going entirely in the opposite direction for a show like this was really appealing. We are so excited about this show, it’s going to be completely unlike anything we’ve done before, and something that the fans will, we hope, adore.”

“MTV and Bastille have a long history from the group’s EMA noms for “Best Push” in 2013, to their mtvu “Woodie Award” win in 2014, and epic 2018 EMA performance of their chart-topping hit “Happier,” said Bruce Gillmer, President of Music, Music Talent, Programming and Events, ViacomCBS and Chief Content Officer, Music, Paramount+. “We’re excited to bring this next edition of MTV’s legendary series to audiences around the world and give fans an opportunity to hear Bastille’s music arranged in a whole new way.”

One Last Time: An Evening With Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga.

Premiering Friday, 21 January At 8pm On MTV.

Streaming Saturday, 20 January on Paramount+.

Someone from P+ didn’t check Saturdays date, actually the 22nd.

No idea why they don’t air it on Shake, when they have shown mtv content on the channel.

Doesn’t really fit into the 10 Shake manifesto of

children’s programming before 6pm and “edgy” content for under-40 viewers at night.

Would be better on Peach if they were going to give it a run on FTA.

In Australia, The Hate We Can’t Forget: A Holocaust Memorial Special will be shown on MTV at 10.55pm AEDT this Thursday, January 27.
