MTV Movie & TV Awards Return For An Epic Two-Day Celebration.

Premieres Live On Monday, 6 June on MTV

MTV today announced the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards will return live, on Monday, 6 June for an epic Los Angeles multi-day takeover at the Barker Hangar, honouring the biggest and best in movies and television.

The star-studded event will be followed by MTV’s second annual Movie & TV Awards: UNSCRIPTED on Tuesday, 7 June, returning to celebrate all things reality television. Over-the-top, funny and completely fresh, the night will celebrate the jaw dropping, no rules, drama filled moments from our favourite reality shows.

Both events will air on MTV internationally in 180 countries. Hosts, honourees, performers, presenters and additional details for both can’t-miss events will be announced at a later date.

Get ready! The 2022 Video Music Awards are almost here.

MTV announced that this year’s show will return to New Jersey for another explosive evening of live performances and appearances from some of the globes biggest artists, taking off from the Prudential Centre in Newark on Sunday, August 28.

Last year’s show, hosted by Doja Cat, featured singular performances from Justin Bieber and The Kid Laroi, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow, and more.

This year promises even more show-stopping surprises and wild performances as the show airs in more than 170 countries and territories.

Hosted by musician Travis Mills and actress Rahne Jones, the series aims to help people figure out why they’ve been emotionally manipulated into keeping their relationships a secret.

Each episode, will see the hosts investigate every jaw-dropping twist of a relationship on the brink, uncover shocking clues and theories as to why they’re being kept hidden, and bring the couple face to face to expose the shocking truths behind their partner’s deception.

MTV have announced the official nominees for the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards and Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted .

Airing live on Monday, 6 June at 10am on MTV Australia, the highly anticipated MTV Movie & TV Awards will be an epic one-day Los Angeles takeover honoring the biggest and best in movies and television.

MTV Australia have announced that the 2022 MTV EMAs will broadcast live from Düsseldorf in Germany on Monday, 14 November on MTV Australia.

The highly anticipated 2022 MTV EMAs will feature show-stopping performances and appearances from the world’s biggest stars. This marks the annual global music celebration’s sixth time in Germany.

Last year’s iconic event was hosted by rap superstar Saweetie, and saw show stopping performances from Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, Maluma, Maneskin, Yungblud and Kim Petras.

MTV today unveiled the nominations for the 2022 VMAs, featuring artists whose cultural impact and work over the past year has transformed the music industry and created global conversations.

Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar and Lil Nas X (7 each) lead this year’s nominations, closely followed by Doja Cat and Harry Styles (6 each), and Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd (5 each).

Leading the pack with 7 nods apiece, Jack Harlow and Lil Nas X both earned multiple nominations for hit collaboration “Industry Baby,” which world premiered live on the 2021 “VMAs” stage, alongside Kendrick Lamar, who is nominated for the first time since 2018. Madonna, who reigns at the most awarded artists in MTV history with 20 wins, becomes the only artist to be nominated in each of the “VMAs” five decades (1980s-2020s), as she earns her 69th nomination for “Madame X.” This year also sees 26 first-time nominees, including Baby Keem (4), GAYLE (2), Kacey Musgraves (2) and Måneskin (2), all receiving multiple nods, plus first nominations for Anitta, Becky G, Dove Cameron, Karol G, ITZY, JID, Muni Long, Tems, Wet Leg and more.

MTV Reveals More Superstar Performers For 2022 Video Music Awards.

MTV today unveiled that BLACKPINK, Jack Harlow, Lizzo and Måneskin are the next round of global superstar performers set to perform at the 2022 VMAs.

BLACKPINK

The K-Pop sensations will make their U.S. award show debut with a can’t-miss, first U.S. performance of “Pink Venom,” live on the “VMAs” stage. In 2020, BLACKPINK made history as the first K-Pop girl group to take home a Moon Person (“Song of the Summer”) and look to take home a second in the all-new “Best Metaverse Performance” category. Group member Lisa is also the first solo female K-Pop star and Korean soloist to ever be nominated.

Jack Harlow

After last year’s unforgettable “VMAs” debut collab of mega-hit “Industry Baby” with Lil Nas X, global superstar Jack Harlow returns to the MTV stage for his first solo performance. Tied for most nominations this year (7), including two of the night’s biggest awards, “Video of the Year” and “Artist of the Year,” Harlow looks to take home his first Moon Person.

The 10x nominee was first nominated in 2020 for “PUSH New Artist” and “Song of the Summer,” and again for “Song of the Summer” in 2021.

Lizzo

Following a show-stopping debut with a massive mashup of “Good As Hell” and “Truth Hurts” in 2019, the multi-hyphenate star is slated for another epic MTV moment with a performance of “2 Be Loved” from her critically acclaimed new album Special. The 11x nominee is also up for four awards this year, including “Artist of the Year” and “Song of the Year.”

Måneskin

Following a standout performance and ”Best Rock” win at the 2021 MTV “EMAs,” Måneskin continue to spearhead a global rock resurgence and will now give their “VMAs” debut performance of #1 alternative hit single “Supermodel”. The critically-acclaimed group are also up for two awards – “Best New Artist” & “Best Alternative” – making history as the first Italian act to be nominated in a main category.

MTV today confirmed award-winning global superstar Rita Ora and Academy Award®-winning and GRAMMY Award-winning writer, director, and actor Taika Waititi will host the MTV EMAs 2022, broadcasting live from Düsseldorf, Germany on Monday, 14 November.

Taylor Swift was the Queen of the night earning four awards at the MTV EMAs 2022 held in Düsseldorf, Germany. Hosted by Rita Ora and Taika Waititi, the live global music celebration featured electrifying performances from chart-topping artists and honoured fan favourites across 20 categories. The show also featured a moving performance by Ukrainian Band Kalush Orchestra with a powerful display of support for Ukraine.

Taylor Swift took top awards including Best Artist, Best Video, Best Pop and Best Longform Video for All Too Well (10 Minute Version). Nicki Minaj was awarded Best Song for Super Freaky Girl, and Best Hip Hop, while Harry Styles won Best Live.

Show host Rita Ora won Best Look ‘Personal Style’, while Video for Good went to Sam Smith feat. Kim Petras for Unholy.

The Best Collaboration award went to David Guetta and Bebe Rexha for I’m Good (Blue) while Guetta also nabbed Best Electronic, and new EMA category Best Metaverse Performance went to BLACKPINK The Virtual PUBG Mobile.

Deriving inspiration from electronic music pioneers and Düsseldorf natives, Kraftwerk, the show featured a digital vibe with lighting, graphic elements and a giant head structure. EMA hosts Rita Ora and Taikia Waititi brought the fashion and the fun with unforgettable looks and show moments.

David Guetta and Bebe Rexha opened the night performing their hit song I’m Good (Blue), with Guetta DJing from a massive riser and Rexha swinging onto the stage.

Muse lit up the stage performing Will of the People, flanked by people wearing mirrored masks, parkour dancers and an explosive finale with flames and flares.

Ava Max performed Million Dollar Baby from a giant diamond with sparkling lighting flooding the arena.

World Stage headliners Gorillaz feat. Thundercat performed Cracker Island from the iconic Tonhalle Music Concert Hall in Dusseldorf.

Stormzy performed his ballad Fire Babe for the first time on TV, creating an intimate show moment with kinetic lighting and special guest vocalist, Debbie.

OneRepublic performed the theme I Ain’t Worried, from the blockbuster film Top Gun: Maverick, which featured giant fighter jet afterburners and a special video intro from global superstar, Tom Cruise.

GAYLE made her award show debut performing her chart-topping hit abcdefu in a teenage bedroom scene featuring confetti explosions.

Making his EMA debut, Lewis Capaldi performed a stripped back version of Forget Me, with on screen graphics that made him appear to be floating on water.

Tate McRae performed a medley of She’s All I Wanna Be and Uh Oh on a stage with dancers in four boxes.

Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra performed a lively and poignant rendition of Stefania with the arena turning blue and yellow in a display of support for Ukraine.

SPINALL, Äyanna and Nasty C closed the night performing Power, flanked by roller skaters with tracking devices that made the lights on the stage form funky patterns.

The show also featured special appearances by actor, singer and global superstar David Hasselhoff, GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Julian Lennon, world-renowned model and activist Leomie Anderson, British singer-songwriter and TikTok Star Sam Ryder, German-raised model and influencer Leonie Hanne, and Canadian singer-songwriter Lauren Spencer Smith, Maxim Baldry, Luis Gerardo Méndez and Miguel Ángel Silvestre. Rising West Philadelphia rapper Armani White performed his hit song, Billie Eilish during the EMA red carpet show.

Additionally, MTV celebrated all the local EMA winners from different regions around the globe from Spain to Latin America, to Germany and Africa, with G Flip taking out the award for Best Australian Act.
