Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries

Yes that too, especially as you say, more likely older audience watching.

Disappointing ratings this morning. Overall, a missed opportunity. With some great acting performances, the production of the show seemed under-resourced. The external scenes, in particular, were entirely unconvincing, consisting of one CGI street backdrop and the rest done with awkward camera angles of current buildings. The production could have also benefited by a sound track that extended to more than just one original 60s song. Whereas shows like Puberty Blues immersed the viewer in the time period, this looked entirely staged.

There were at least two original songs in it. The CGI was alright.

I quite enjoyed it but it felt too long even with the ads zapped. Good cast and guests. Loved Peregrine’s banter. Geraldine Hakewill is brilliant. Look forward to more of that.

scathing audience response on Facebook, look at the comments to get an idea why the ratings are so poor.

The show will make its US debut on streaming service Acorn next Monday, April 29.

The show is now available on DVD at JB Hi-Fi, Sanity and online retailers through (interestingly) ABC DVD label.

A much better idea IMO. Better than that stupid telemovie thing they attempted last time.

Pretty big news from Seven. Wasn’t expecting a drama to be recommissioned in this environment.

Might help with the sale of Seven Studios?

Might have had a few more overseas sales that we don’t know about and streaming interest too.

Based on the last update there was about that, it seems Seven are only going to sell the overseas arms of the business and keep the local production aspect

Season two of Ms. Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries will feature eight one-hour mysteries.

Good to see they they will be one hour mysteries rather than the two hour telemovies or one mystery over eight hours.

Are Australian shows going to start premiering overseas before they screen here in future?

That depends on who has commissioned the show. In this case it’s Acorn so it calls the shots.
