“Popcorn dropping moment”

However, traditionalists can relax: she’s not the new Bond, but a new character who takes over his secret agent number after he leaves MI6.

Yet we’ll still bait reactionaries online with wild headlines and open our comments to racist and sexist abuse!

The film will be made in Queensland next year with the support of the Queensland Government, Screen Queensland and the Australian Government’s Producer Offset program.

Rare CIC logo from 1981 - this was the forerunner to United International Pictures, which was then split up in Australia to Universal and Paramount.

The original clip on Vimeo as originally captured.

Natalie Portman, who played Jane Foster in the first three Thor movies, will be the female Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder, while Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson will return.

Rutger Hauer, who played replicant Roy Batty and delivered one of the most powerful monologues in film history, has died. He died in 2019, the same year Batty dies in the film Blade Runner.

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Such an iconic movie. One I watched as a kid numerous times. Sean Young was also excellent in it, often overlooked by Harrison Ford’s performance. The movie itself often under-rated. The re-boot/sequel I saw at the cinemas a couple of years ago was good, but nowhere near as much as 1982.

Anyone know of or have multiple DVDs and/or collections, of the same thing?

Example:

Alien franchise (20C Fox) is a good one, using “Alien 3” (1992) here as the example…

2000 Special Edition DVD [2 discs]:
20190729_215347

2000 One Disc Edition DVD (“M” rating):
20190729_215100

2003 Special Edition DVD [2 discs] (updated and “Alien Quadrilogy” box set theme):
20190729_214942

2004 Special Edition DVD [2 discs] (same as 2003, but further added extras and updated cover to reflect the “SE” 20C Fox series):
20190729_215047

2007 Definitive Edition DVD [2 discs] (same as 2004, but enhanced picture and audio, plus collectors slip-case packaging)*:
20190729_215028

2007 re-launch of One Disc Edition DVD (exact same as 2000 including “M” rating):
20190729_215209

2017 2-Disc (currently available - same content as 2007 but all updated):

2018 1-Disc (currently available and still “M” - same content as 2000 but all updated):

*“M” was actually the classification given in 1992 for theatrical release, first VHS and LaserDisc, as well as both versions of the first DVD in 1999/2000. However was re-classified MA15+ for the “Quadrilogy” in 2003, but “M” was incorrectly kept for the 2007 one disc re-issue and again for last year’s. Both 2 disc and one disc versions have actually always carried the uncut film! This happens a lot when distributors don’t check the latest ACB classification for a film and/or the version.

8 versions over less than 20 years, not including the Blu-Ray and HD DVD releases, let alone all the 90s VHS, et al. versions. THAT’S A HELL OF A LOT FOR ONE MOVIE.

Ping: @Zampakid (who I know has a decent DVD/Blu-Ray collection )

I have multiple different versions of Apollo 13

I have the original 2 disc release on DVD

I have the “script edition” which is a 1 disc dvd that came with a script except as an insert (got this on a business trip when i was stuck in a hotel and wanted something to watch - it was insanely cheap - i think around $5)

I also have the HDDVD edition which is now a bit of an antique along with the Blu ray and the 4K versions.

Lean On Pete. What a tear jerker. The smaller and less hyped the movie, the more I seem to enjoy it. I’ve seen some forgettable stinkers lately but that engaged me enough not to lose my attention to crap on the internet.

The very young lead was also excellent in All The Money In The World which I saw not long ago, some tough themes/scenes (one was very hard to watch), the true story which was infamous for Christopher Plummer (no relation) replacing Kevin Spacey.

Some examples of my doubles. DVD to Blu-ray upgrade and New film transfer.

Both Theatrical and Extended Editions of LOTR

Very jelly

I had the same DVD series as @Sully, plus the non standard releases from Die Another Day onwards.

Traded up for the Bond 50 set that @Zampakid pictured, which included a space for the Skyfall disc, so it’s just Spectre that sits alone on the shelf.

Oh, and pleased to see no trace of Never Say Never Again in either collection.

Wow! By the way, your pre Casino Royale titles, were they the 1-disc “Special Editions” (commenced in 2000) or the 2-disc “Ultimate Editions” (commenced in 2006) or a mixture? Mine (as can be seen) was a near 50/50 mixture as it turned out.

Good question… It just so happens that I kept the little booklets from inside the DVD cases, as they had info about the films.

I had the special editions of Goldfinger and Diamonds are Forever. The remainder (up to and including The World is Not Enough) were the ultimate editions. Die Another Day is a two disc edition (no branding). I kept a two disc “collectors edition” of Casino Royale

And The Matrix is back after 20 years.

Saw “Angel Has Fallen” at the cinemas the other day and the film opened with this:

Didn’t realise Roadshow attached a theatrical distribution claimer, assumed they’d just play it as handed to by their licenser in the US (i.e.) Millenium Films.

(The music theme was the same as Village Cinemas - a major Melbourne cinema chain, which plays during pre-movie trailers/ads as an ident. Also awkward as this was at Hoyts, technically their rival!)
