I saw it and really enjoyed it. Very heartwarming without being too mawkish. Lovely film.

I saw After the Hunt last Friday, quite enjoyed it. If you want a dialogue-driven and intellectual flick or are a fan of Luca Guadagnino’s work, then this should be for you.

I thought it was one of Julia Roberts’ best performances, certainly dramatically speaking and in a long time. Can see some Oscar noms.

Looks like 2026 will be another year of sequels and remakes of past films from the 80s/90s and 2000s.

Isn’t that true every year?

Hence ‘another year’

So was it worth mentioning?

My point being… very little new ideas or original concepts being made.

I wonder how the Black List is going?

Wicked: For Good has earned US$376 million worldwide on its first weekend of release.

Deadline adds that for Australia:

Elphaba and Glinda dominated Australia as well, with US$8.6M (A$13.3 million) and 78% of the Top 10 movies in the market. This is the biggest live-action musical opening ever (surpassing Beauty and The Beast), the biggest non-holiday opening of 2025, Universal’s third-biggest opening, and the third-best for November ever.

Prolific producer Marc Platt back to box office hits with this Wicked franchise, probably his best since the acclaimed “La La Land” (and the infamous Oscars fisaco that followed). One of the creator’s behind the beloved “Legally Blonde” films. He also produced his real life actor-singer son Ben in “Dear Evan Hansen”.

I’ll probably wait myself for it to drop on a paid streamer. I like Wicked, but not a super fan. Also many have said this sequel isn’t quite as good. I really loved the original stage musical, saw it twice back in 2009, it was massive back then and 2008. Can recall Amanda Harrison and a then up-and-coming Lucy Durack performing before the ‘08 AFL Grand Final. And who could forget poor Rob Guest passing away early on in the piece and Bert Newton took over, who I thought did a fantastic job.
