Movies on TV

Last aired on 7flix, on Saturday 12 May last year at 8:50pm.

Oh a year and a half ago lol

You made it sound like it aired in the past month or so.

Again, semantics David. So what if it had? “Recently” as in ‘recent times’ (as opposed to 10, 20 years ago). Sorry for any confusion…

And to back up what I was saying, “Princess Diaries 2” aired on 7flix four times within 4 months (January - May last year), I’d call that being run to death!

It’s always good having an Australian film airing on the telly. I agree, that the film Australia Day should have aired in January.

They’ll probably re-run it again on… Australia Day.

Thor: Ragnarok “network premiere” tomorrow night on Nine

NB/ It appears Nine are using that term now, so they can say “9Go! premiere” when it’s encored, case in point with a primo I just saw for “The Last Jedi” for Thursday (FTA premiere was last Saturday). Exploiting the word “premiere” I think

WB modern cover-up logo on classic (and for its time controversial) “The Wild Bunch” (1969) on 7mate.

Version provided is from late 90s/early 2000s, judging by the logo used including “AOL”.

Love Actually is airing on both 7 and 9 in the lead up to Christmas?

Yes.

The Disney deal will be fully transferred over to Nine from this week.

Love Actually is licenced by NBC-U?

Yes, both deals are moving to Nine. Disney-ABC according to that tweet last week.

Okay, when you said Disney I was totally confused

Sorry I meant both studios. Sorry!

Love Actually premiered on 10 in 2006. It first aired on Seven on Friday May 27 in 2011.

And assuming Seven and Nine’s multi-channels ‘encore’ it, what’s that, possibly 4 or more airings of it in December!? :exploding_head:

FTA premiere. From NBC-U.

Which is interesting, as Nine have the deal with them and very recently just re-signed in a more expanded/exclusive output. 10 must’ve been able to get this title as a cherry pick.

The other ones 10 are airing over Christmas are from their existing deals with Disney and Roadshow.

According to IMDb, Office Christmas Party is distributed by Paramount.

This film is a little complicated…

It’s owned (copyright) by DreamWorks, themselves now fully owned by NBC-U. Therefore distribute DW films as of the last few years. Hence it’s licenced to global TV networks by NBC-U, but obviously 10 secured rights ahead of say Nine.

By way of background:

Paramount Pictures only theatrically released it and co-financed it in the US.

Entertainment One theatrically distributed it here in 2016 and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment originally handled initial home media here, before NBC-U/DW kicked in.
