Seven ran the original theatrical cut of Alien Resurrection (may have even been an old master copy). They also edited it for content due to classification restrictions (MA15+ down to M) with some not too pleased
NB/ There was an extended “Special Edition” cut released in 2003, which has a completely different opening credits, closing credits and restoration of some small deleted scenes (7min or so in total), which I prefer marginally, though the director and many disagree (hence why in his special feature commentary he stated this was not his Directors Cut but rather his original theatrical in 1997 he calls his cut - which he likes).
True. A recent example of this is “The Adjustment Bureau” (2011) thriller starring Matt Damon. It’s licenced by NBC-U and premiered on Seven on Friday March 8, 2013. It last aired on Seven in January 2018 (so hasn’t aired in over a year and a half, so their rights to this title expired sometime over this period).
This family classic and one of Robin Williams most iconic performances returns to Seven, after 10 had rights between 2009 (AFL GF night) and 2015 (Christmas Eve) from their 20C Fox output.
Seven premiered it on Sunday November 10 in 1996, from their original 20C Fox output.
And of course, on this day 5 years ago (Tues 12/8/14) as a tribute to Robin Williams, who died earlier that day. It smashed the debut of Sam Armytage’s Bringing Sexy Back.
I seem to recall 10 airing it also on the night (or day after maybe) of his tragic passing? I think I watched it that night too and recall it doing a massive (for the time and being a re-run) over 800k metro?
Bridget Jones Diary and Bridget Jones Baby going head-to-head tonight on 7flix and Ch 9 respectively. Woeful programming, I reckon one will change at late notice? @TV.Cynic
Both from Warner Bros. It will be the FTA premiere for The Lego Batman Movie, also the second Batman movie to premiere on Seven after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in October last year.
Sorry for replying so late to this. The classic 1966 Batman movie, which was based on the television series, premiered on TEN-10 Sydney at 7:30pm on Friday 3 March 1972.

According to Wikipedia the movie premiered on US television on ABC on 4 July 1971.
