Most watched newscast in Australia

What would be the most watched newscasts in Australia by everyone’s estimated educated guess? National and local.

For local. Would it be 7 News Sydney or 7 News Melbourne, which are carried on both Sydney and Melbourne stations and also across regional Vic and SNSW/act?

For national - would it be 10 news or 9 News or 7 News at 5pm weekends?

7 News Perth has been dominating over Nine News Perth for 3 decades

@BigVic

Yes but 7 news Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney and 9 News Brisbane Sydney and Melbourne are all watched by far more people

Of the bulletins across “the big two” it might be Seven News Sydney which has the greatest reach population wise as it’s seen (in addition to Seven in the Sydney metropolitan TV market, of course) every night in the Newcastle/Hunter, Central Coast, Wollongong/Illawarra, Canberra & Gold Coast markets via Prime7.

Ratings wise, I’m not so sure because there are a tonne of early evening programming variations in the major aggregated regional markets on the East Coast of Australia.

Yes. Agree.

Im guessing 7 news Sydney - Sunday edition - is the most watched

And national?

@SydneyCityTV

Come to think of it, you could be right by guessing that the Sunday night edition of Seven News Sydney being the most watched local TV news bulletin in Australia, when you take into consideration the four markets (Wagga, Central West, North West, North Coast) which receives the bulletin via Prime7 on weekends but not weeknights.

That said, I’m sure Seven News still makes most content decisions solely with the Sydney metropolitan market in mind on both weeknights and weekends.
