Nine continued its 9-day winning streak though with a smaller margin than the previous Monday. Nine edged down by one point that saw small increases for ABC and Seven while 10 and SBS were unchanged. Nine was again well ahead in key advertising demos with 10 second.

The start of Retreat Week saw Married at First Sight drop to its lowest audience in two weeks, down 30k. That however still put it well clear of the nearest competition. Next best in the reality stakes was Survivor that was up slightly on Sunday and up 66,000 from the previous week to a new season high of 540,000. Over on Seven, Idol was even with Sunday and up 20k on the previous Monday in preliminary numbers with a significant overrun likely leading to an adjustment.

Elsewhere, most of Nine’s programming was down week-on-week with Big Miracles slipping 30k though in line with recent results it should be expecting a 30% increase in Total TV viewing. 10’s Would I Like to You? was up 40k to a season high benefitting from an improved lead in. Earlier, The Project continued to be impacted by calls for its cancellation by hitting its highest rating of the survey.

ABC’s Australian Story was down 60k for its second instalment of the year but Four Corners that followed had its best result in five weeks. That saw Media Watch up 50k week-on-week.

SBS continued to struggle on Monday with a main channel share dropping to 2.9% while 7Bravo had one of its better results.

F1 topped Foxtel’s rankings with The Last of Us also doing well.

You want me to comment on The Project?

I would suggest to you that this has to be the final year because the 6.30pm version is nowhere to be seen and even the 7pm Version fails to make it into the Top 20 on at least 2 nights of the week.

As mentioned many times before, programs that are either too far left like The Project and Q & A and also too far right like Sky News are not resonating with the audience this year because viewers are sick of being lectured to.

Does anyone ever provide examples of this “too far left” and “lecturing” aspect of The Project? It gets talked about, a lot, but very few concrete examples.

Q&A. Pfft. Gave up on it years ago. Not because of left or right i just found it annoying!

I don’t understand the too far left comment regarding The Project either. I just see it as a very light hearted news and entertainment show.

I think people who never see the show automatically link the presence of Waleed Aly as equalling “far left” but if they paid any attention they’d see that isn’t necessarily the case.

Don’t really like the present host much.

Exactly as I see it. Wish @scott would back up his words and not just mimic the Murdoch press and the Daily Mail.

So let me throw it back at you.

Why do you think the 6.30pm Project failed to make the Top 20 again last night and the 7pm finihsed in 19th spot?

Do you really think, based on these numbers, it can survive?

I gave up even under its previous long standing host.

Success isn’t purely made on raw overnight numbers. If it’s paying its way that’s probably the main metric to decide anything.

That was not the question! If you check elsewhere I believe 10 will have to come up with something else in The Project’s timeslot. I support The project 100% as a light news/entertainment show but it doesn’t resonate with the general public. The perception by many (including you) is this left wing nonsense, most critics haven’t even watched the show! If it was extreme left wing (as you suggest) then IMO it would mirror the extreme garbage spewed nightly on Sky News, it doesn’t. Just give me an example of left wing bias on The Project and I’ll leave this alone as it’s getting boring and must be annoying to other posters as we all can guess your views.

You just answered your own question by saying “the perception by many is this left wing nonsense”.

I was asked for my opinon and I gave it.

No problems @scott, I’ll leave it alone now. I didn’t ask for your opinion, I asked for evidence. So it seems you have no evidence of Project extreme left wing bias, it’s only your perception!

Good numbers for Home and Away, close to 500,000.

This doesn’t include the many thousands of viewers watching live or on catch up via 10play.
The show is profitable for 10 otherwise it wouldn’t be on air.
