A big night for Nine with a 36.5% share, its best Monday number of the year and 14 clear of Seven that slumped to its lowest Monday result of the year. 10, ABC and SBS were on par for their usual Monday shares.

Top program of the night was the final reunion dinner to close off Married at First Sight for another successful year. Down slightly from Sunday, the result compared to 1,212,000 in 2022 and 1,398,000 in 2021. It is the lowest linear result for the show across its 10 seasons for the finale. Across the series, the show averaged 878,000 in the overnights, rising to 968,000 for 7-day consolidated. Nine reported yesterday that the Total TV audience averaged 2,023,000.

Earlier, Nine News wasn’t competitive +200k below Seven News at 6pm but the margin was reduced by 6.30pm. Then at 7pm Nine was on top as A Current Affair posted its biggest audience of the year. Later, RPA’s second episode was on par with the previous week’s season premiere.

Seven got off to a good start to the night. With the end of daylight saving, Seven News recorded its biggest news audience of the year at 6pm and 6.30pm. Home and Away that followed, however, dropped 26k from last week while Highway Patrol’s first episode then just made the top 20, down 40k from the previous Monday.

10 just nabbed third place as the second episode of I’m A Celebrity lost +100k from the launch episode. Would I Lie to You? that followed did well to make the top 20 with a season high 258,000.

ABC News saw one of its best 7pm results of the year with 7.30 also doing well to be over 500k. However, Australian Story was down 80k with Four Corners and Media Watch also posting significant drops of around 100k.

So ends another wildly successful season of Married at First Sight (in terms of ratings). BVOD streaming often took up 20-25% of Total TV audience this season and broke records several times.

With MAFS out of the way, it will be interesting to see if I’m a Celebrity can increase its audience for the remainder of this week and Easter Sunday, before Lego Masters and Farmer Wants a Wife start on Easter Monday.

Including BVOD metro figures, has MAFS performed better than it did last year @TV.Cynic in the overnights?

Nine reported yesterday, up 5% in Total People.

Celebrity loses audience which is more proof they started on the wrong night beause it is crazy to launch a show on the night that MAFS is going to rate over one million.

Celebrity is not the type of show that builds audience. All the interest is at the start and there isn’t enough interest in these so called “celebrities”.

we’ve already been through this

As was mentioned yesterday… this is a live show. It was planned months in advanced. It’s Nine that changed up their schedule last minute to interfere with Ten’s launch. There is not much Ten could do about it.

They need to learn to pivot because otherwise, you pay the price. ie. lose 100k of audience.

You cant deny the consequences when you look at last night’s figures.

I’m surprised you’re not commenting about how The Project is in the top 20 and rated higher than the 5pm news. I’m expecting to call for the axing of the afternoon news and extending The Project to 5pm :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: and having a second edition of The Project at 9pm. :joy:

The 7pm Project scraped into the top 20 so well done to them.

The 6.30pm Project hasn’t been sighted off Nobby’s.

Probably due to its abysmal lead in… The news

we’ll be doing it again tomorrow…

Again, we’ve been through this. Move on.

The second episode of I’m A Celebrity usually drops by around 100k or more from the opener last year it was 120k.

Celeb have a chance the next couple nights to push Sydney’s numbers. Melbourne is doing the heavy lifting at the moment.

7flix beaten by 7Bravo last night, looks like loss of The Simpsons is hurting already and Bondi Vet not showing much (yet)

How could we be discussing Celebrity dropping by 100K yesterday when it hadn’t happened yet??

I would be interested if TV.Cynic could give us the figures for the second episode last year and how that compares with last night’s 465,000
